Tulsa Workshop

The Tulsa Workshop, Stone Campbell Movement, instrumentalists representing non-instrument churches of Christ. You will notice that the Christian Chronicle is still spreading the falsehood that the SPLIT occurred in 1906.  Of course, the implication is that the Church of Christ SPLIT from the Christian Church because of musical instruments.

History 101 knows that the Church of Christ was not part of the Cane Ridge witchcraft and held NO DOCTRINE in common with the Disciples. Barton W. Stone thought that UNION trumped doctrine and there were some UNIONS of meeting in the same building.  Of course, that did not involve the Church of Christ at large, was opposed and ceased when the "Catholic, Church of England, Methodist, Christian Church" movement began to add instruments. The first organ was introduced in the Free Black Methodist church AFTER they discovered that loss of income could be made up with a musical: it worked so well that they added it to the "worship."

For the NACC to lie that the Church of Christ SECTED away from THEM in 1906
is a confession that THEY were the Disciples of Christ in 1906 who had already sowed massive discord with their instruments and denomination intending to "include ALL of Christendom."  They WILL NOT in fact say that they agree with the Disciples when WE know that it was they who SECTARIANIZED OUT in 1926-27.

WATCH THIS PAGE FOR WARNINGS ABOUT THE BAIT AND SWITCH WRESTLING MATCH. 2004 Review of Tulsa Workshop

Rick Atchley is on the billborard for 2008: is there some reason that one who lied about every Biblical and historical witness AGAINST instruments is still DEmothing or Destoring the church?  I know that "numbers and $s count" but some prime examples proves that, first, God does not let you get away with lying TO Him and ABOUT Him.  Second, people may set like owls on a log and you THINK that they are laughing WITH you but they are silently weeping that the wrath of God has been poured out meaning that He sends singers, jesters and Buffoons.  His finances are not going well nor does his boasted 6,400 members to get him a seat on the pillar measure up with a consistent mid 3000 number and a dwindling income.  The church Max built is having second thoughts.

Looks like someone spiked the fleece Max and Lynn Anderson's eldersare setting out.  With 40% involved in financeing the new leap it sounds like they still have some split ends. I am told that the participate PRE APOSTASY was 90% participation. When people discover that elders are so dishonorable that they will BAIT AND SWITCH or divert monies to their own ends there is NO LAW OF GIVING and I am still anticipating that some men involved in hostile takeovers will do some hard time on the rock: if not now then later because Isaiah says that HELL is prepared and God BEATS people there with the same wind, string and percussion instruments Lucifer--the singing and harp-playing prostitute--brought with him/her/it into the garden of Eden.

"The collection guaranteed adequate funds for the down payment on the Journey Fellowship initiative, so we are moving forward with remodeling the Bluebonnet Dance Hall into an auditorium. We lacked enough money to build a new facility at Crownridge, however. So we, like Gideon, set out another fleece and explored the idea of reducing the size of the building."

We are informed by a still resisting member-leader that they are having second thoughts.

You can tell which way the Navigating Winds are blowing by seeing which end the smoke is coming from. Those Wade Hodges has selected to represent churches of Christ are clearly NOT. They are already changed or changing to be more like the Christian Church by confiscating peaceable churches of Christ.

The NACC is reaping a few tares with their pseudo-unity lectures: as at Freedhardeman U, the non-instrumentalists are always caught with their rants down because there is no KNOWLEDGE BASE other than "the law of giving" and "historical examples."  We have added:

David Faust who snookered FU and who CO-conspired with Rick Atchley in the Hostile Takeover.
First, we will look at the Temple Dedication: False teachers see this as God's charismatic fit when He heard the 120 trumpets make ONE SOUND.  Bible students know that it MARKED God removing His symbolic presnece, His Grace under the Mercy Seat and the Word once under the Mercy Seat.  So, the NACC is promoting the Sabazianism of the Jews.

Second, David Faust Claims that God PROPHESIED Instrumental music for the church.  Just like all of the experts at Guru there will not be ONE who knows the story line of the Old Testament.

Third, David Faust claims that Jesus did not address Instrumental Music.
Jesus identified the Scribes and Pharisees etal as HYPOCRITES by pointing to the prophecy by Isaiah which is included in Ezekiel. God speaking to Ezekiel identifies slick speakers, singers and instrument players as HYPOCRITES and those who ATTENDED were hypocrites just wanting to be entertained by the hypocrites. ALL of the Greek world indentified singers and musicians as ENCHANTERS: indeed John identifies the Mother of Harlots (Rev 17) and calls the singers and musicians and other "craftsmen" SORCERERS.  No Phd will find any exception to that and to the homosexuality-religious music connection.

All of the book writers for the NACC quote many of the ancient authors to prove that PSALLO means playing the harp when their examples just means PLUCK. And ALL of their examples which they smooth over identify senior males PLUCKING a harp to seduce a "youth minister" who was normally castrated (a capella) or sex changed for that task.

John Waddey compiles the following:

Our latest search for unity began with the "Restoration Summit" meeting at Ozark Bible College in Joplin, MO in 1984. The principle leaders from our brotherhood were Alan Cloyd, Ruel Lemmons and Rubel Shelly. Don DeWelt led the Independent Christian Church preachers. Lemmons and DeWelt are both deceased, and Cloyd in now longer active. Rubel Shelly, Calvin Warpula and Rick Atchley are chief promoters among our people and Victor Knowles is a principle leader of the Christian Churches. At the beginning, there were four attitudes seen among our people:

1. A warm enthusiastic reception by some wh o had little or no concern about the doctrinal problems involved.
2. A cautious willingness by some to investigate the matter, to see if there is any possibility of positive good to be realized.

3. Others were
suspicious of compromise and refused to participate.
4. A number were militantly opposed to the whole idea and determined to block it.

We have posted some of the very false teaching by Ray Downen and Dwaine E. Dunning who express sentiment toward taking an AXE to the non-instrumental position.

Victor Knowles is founder and executive director of POEM (Peace on Earth Ministries), located in Joplin, Missouri. He has served as editor of the quarterly magazine ONE BODY since its inception by Don DeWelt in 1984. He and his wife Evelyn also write a monthly newsletter, THE KNOWLESLETTER. Victor is a coordinator of the annual unity meeting known as The Restoration Forum. He has authored a number of books and has been published in IMAGE, WINESKINS, INTEGRITY, CHRISTIAN STANDARD, THE LOOKOUT, PULPIT HELPS, MOODY, and many other journals. He has spoken at the International Soul Winning Workshop, Pepperdine University Bible Lectures, North American Christian Convention, National Prayer Clinic, National Missionary Convention, South Pacific Christian Convention, and several national and international Bible conferences and Christian writers' conferences. POEM does evangelistic and humanitarian work in Poland, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Cuba, and India. Victor, son of a minister and poet, is a 1968 graduate of Midwestern School of Evangelism. His work ethic is based upon a statement by C. S. Lewis, "All that is not eternal is eternally useless."

Victor Knowles does a repeat of Tom Burgess who cannot get a single Biblical or historical fact correct. Both make a big push on the PSALLO word but it simplle means to PLUCK or TWITCH. It is primarily a WARFARE word and also speaks of shooting "love arrows." The proof texts which they use are available and all EXAMPLES are of older males unmanly plucking the harp to groom young boys.

You should read what Victor pours out on the heads of ANTI-instrumentalists who he attacks with this term because they believe that using instrumental music in the face of a Holy God when He is conducting classes is a SIN. The literature of these two thousand years is universally in favor of calling such discorders sinners because they are subconscious or unconsious pagans. If not then presuming to be a teacher and being totally ignorant without any original research surely must be a sin beyond redemption. Alfred repeats the old Tom Burgess research.

2. Tom Burgess More Review of Plutarch: if Psallo authorizes "church music" it authorizes a homosexual gathering.

3. Tom Burgess on Moralia confirms the "Music-Heresy-Perversion" connection which has no historical exception. 10/20/04

4. Tom Burgess on John Chrysostom: are the anti-instrumentalists ignorant rurals? 10/21/04 What about Paul and Martin Luther and John Calvin and Zwingli and--everyone who believed the Bible as authority.

5. Tom Burgess on Kurfees versus Thayer and Grimm: Quotes from: G. C. Brewer, A Medley on the Music Question, Gospel Advocate, Nashville 1948. Burgess uses the same Krewson arguments. LATEST 11/08/05

Milton Jones is the preaching minister for the Northwest Church in Seattle, Washington. He also serves as a professor at Puget Sound Christian College and on the board of Christian Relief Fund where he focuses on the care of AIDS orphans in Sub Sahara Africa. Milton has authored eight books including his latest, The Other Side of the Keyboard. He is married to Barbie Jones and has two sons, Pat and Jeremy. The compelling narrative of how God brought together the Northwest Church of Christ and the Shoreline Christian Church to be one congregation and how He blessed the merger.

This writer hired Milton Jones as a campus minister to the University of Washington. Pickings were easier in a Christian Church College. They, in fact, converted Milton so that he is a DEFACTO member of the Christian church. He unfairly manipulated the people to abandon the CREED IN THE DEED under the Lawyer's ploy that the members would be liable if brought up on charges of being SECTARIAN. After driving away the older owners of the property his wife became the "worship minister" and instruments were added using the CHANGE AGENTS GRADUALISM beginning with a '"musical worship team" replacing the Lord's Table.

This was the plow in most "unity meetings":

When the Witty-Murch unity movement was before our people, Bro. H. Leo Boles confronted Bro. Claude F. Witty with six pertinent questions:

1. Are you not a self-appointed representative of the churches of Christ?
2. Have you told Murch and his brethren there can be no unity until he puts the organ aside and gives up the missionary societies?

3. For union you say that both sides must move. Now what will the churches of Christ have to give up?

4. What will they have to begin teaching that they are not now teaching?

5. What will they have to begin practicing that they are not now practicing? What will they have to quit teaching and practicing in order to effect this union?

6. The Christian Church has gone off. It has organized measures to 'perpetuate the cause of division.' How can it come back without abandoning these things? How can we 'go to them till they abandon the things which caused the division?

His so-called success story of BONDING the two groups is, like most of the pseud-non instrumental side, is bonding of a confiscated church of Christ with a Christian Church. Milton follows the Tom Burgess - Victor Knowles quite violent attack on the ANTI-instrumentalists. Consistent with the "musical side" they violate every principle of logic, Bible scholarship and the universal testimony associating instrumental music with paganism. And yet, not in the vilest pagan temple could the singers and musicians enter into the holy precincts. The Levitical Warrior Musicians who made NOISE and not MUSIC could not enter into the Holy Place as typical of the body or church of Christ EVEN TO CLEAN OUT THE GARBAGE.

An e-mail from 2004 Tulsa Workout: "Ashamed October 12 2004, 5:47 PM

I am from the Tulsa area, and attended the workshop for the first time this past year. Mr. Lancaster was leading singing the night I was there. All I can say is I actualy was embarrased by the actions on stage. I can't for the life of me imagine how our leaders seem to think they are more important than they really are. People a Song leader aka worship leader is not there for our amusement (entertainment) If I wanted to be entertained I would go somewhere else. It is a song leaders job to start the song and get the CONGREGATION into an active worship. It seems like some of these guys think we should just sit back and let them perform. The dancing actualy made me blush in embarasment. I actualy thought to myself Man I hope nobody I know sees me here, and Man I'm glad I didn't invite anyone to go with me to this. What a absolute tragedy.

I'll take my small congregation of singers over you and your praise team any day of the week and twice (literally) on Sunday.

As for those of you who have dealt with these problems on a daily basis. I'm sorry for you, and I pray God gives you strength.

This will be as exciting as PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING because everyone knows that it is THEATER and both actors support the instrumental music position. Sowing Discord is not a problem when you have VISIONS or hear audible voices.

The Stone Campbell Movement is another driving force of the Christian churches to continue trying to suck up churches of Christ using the bad lie that the MOVEMENTS were from the same roots and the STONEITE movement related to witchcraft and the Shouting Methodists should have PRIORITY over the "weaker brothers."

J. F. Burnett in 1921 denies that Barton W. Stone joined the Disciples of Christ. The so-called Stoneites never agreed with much that the Campbellites or Reformers or Disciples or churches of Christ believed.

January 2, 2006 Wade Hodges

Wade Hodges: Every year thousands of folks from Acapella Churches of Christ and a few from Independent Christian Churches gather at the Tulsa Fairgrounds for the Tulsa International Soul-Winning Workshop. Plans are well underway for the 2006 Workshop, which will take place on March 23rd thru the 25th.

Here is why about half of the OWNERS flee when the MUSICAL TEAMS begin performing a capela which is Not connected to the approved example of Jesus or the direct commands of Paul

The word A capella is a PREDJUICED WORD. A capella has nothing to do with the simple singing or SPEAKING the Word one to another. The Pope brought a Musical Worship Team of castratos when he returned from his "Babylonian Captivity." They were used in the Sistine Chapel where it was unlawful (and unscriptural) for the official Mass to use musical instruments. If it would be an insult to the Pope why wouldn't it be an insult to Jesus Christ who said of the ones and twos--with no human mediators in song and sermons--come REST, come learn of Me. The Catholic never did worship with "congregational singing and instrumental accompany" and the Catholic Encyclopedia defends the role of congregational singing as being te ideal.

The Look to the Hills conference this year used an "expert" to try to prove that mimesis was NOT proof of sexual disfunction. However, all of the evidence proves that it is:

"The development both of religion and of the arts can be traced back in a continuous line to the hunting era. The group ritual of the primeval tribesmen were the origin not only of all religious ceremonial, but also of the drama and of poetry and music, while magic gave birth to the visual arts."

"Awed by the mysteries of his own spirit no less than by those of nature, primitive man was likely to attribute to divine influence

any abnormal emotional state, whether above or below the usual level. Medicine men customarily went into states of trance in which they were believed to be in communication with the gods, and many tribes supposed lunatics and sexual deviants to be divinely possessed. (Parkes, Henry Bamford, On Gods and Men, p. 30).

"Of particular interest is the way that early modern playwrights, music theorists, and theater apologists addressed this conflated language of the "enemy," by echoing the same connections between sexuality and playing found in the most virulent antitheatrical tracts. "As this paper will demonstrate, by "playing" with the conflated language, these writers defended their art, justifying their existence in a society that was both seduced and repulsed by them. By claiming the polemical antitheatrical language, these players escaped from the ideological margins to which their opponents had tried to relegate them.

Using the artifices of mimesis (imitation) and comedy they pointed out and--

-defused their opponents' anxieties about music, theater, and sexuality,
creating a space
for players in the cultural mainstream."

"The papacy also continued the practice of creating castratos (boys castrated before puberty to keep their singing voices high-pitched) for their own entertainment, long after it had fallen in disfavor throughout Italy."

"Into this artificial world came the castrati, who had first gained a place in Italian churches for their 'angelic' voices. Castratos are said to have been the world's first superstars, because of the great sums paid to them for their singing, and scheduled engagements that took them to cities across Europe, to please their enthusiastic followers.

"How can we hear their music today, since we have no more castratos to listen to? Well, during the current renaissance in Baroque music, some castrato roles have been carefully recreated by counter-tenors also known as male altos or sopranos. Other musici parts are sung by women who use a natural alto or soprano range, but adopt a style which attempts to make the music sound appropriately 'masculine', at least for male roles. There is much debate as to which is better--but keeping in mind the fact that most early composers wrote 'trouser' roles for women to sing, and that castratos frequently presented women's roles, especially in their youth, it would seem that gender stretching is an original part of this music, and perhaps one reason for its continuing dramatic impact."

"Allegory and metaphor elevated the art over the humdrum of life. The Baroque belittled theatrical realism and dramatic truth as commonplace. It created the castrato, a creature without sex but with a heavenly voice instead. It saw the emergence of virtuosity which transported the listener into a world of marvels.

The Baroque invented sentimental shepherds and shepherdesses
...........with salon manners and salon language.

It created melodies with virtuoso ornaments and opera
........... became a theatre in which singing replaced ordinary speech.

It invented the wig and female knickers with flounce, lace and ribbons, all of which was to imbue reality with a more poetic character. It created the gallant style and the theory of affections, which isolated and catalogued human emotions and feelings. The opera was the most eloquent manifesto of the escape from reality into a better world.

The ZOE group OUTED like all a capella fellas brought in an expert to relieve their fears about the PLATONIC FALLACY. Of course, Plato and all literate writers knew that all of the theatrical (hypocritical) arts were MANNED by boys UNmanned.

You can tell by the "warriors" on the a capella side that this MATCH HAS BEEN THROWN:

Wade Hodges: Our theme is "For the Good of the World, To the Glory of God." Our list of confirmed speakers includes Rick Atchley, Chuck Booher, Mike Cope, Allan Dunbar, Max Lucado, Marvin Phillips, Bob Russell, and Jeff Walling.

Pray tell how will the world profit if the new MISSIONARY SOCIETY gets spinning to promote religionism rather than make DISCIPLES who NEED NO ONE TO TEACH THEM if the preacher preaches "that which has been preached?"

ADDED NOTES: "As early as 1882, Sewell and Harding were urging that a separation be brought about to identify that part of the Christian Church fellowship which supported the organ and the society. Lipscomb, at the time, rebuffed his brethren who called for such division. He sought no compromise, but hoped that the church would not suffer division."

"By 1897, Lipscomb was reconciled to the fact that division had already occurred and the supporters of the innovations would be satisfied with nothing less than a complete take-over of the churches... (Adron Doran, J.E.Choate, The Christian Scholar, p. 59

That was the same scam tried in 1909 when the Disciples Denomination published their AIMS for everyone--that they all may be one.

Wade Hodges: A highlight of this year's workshop will be special evening sessions featuring tag-team keynotes by preachers from Acapella Churches of Christ and Independent Christian Churches. I'm especially looking forward to the Friday night keynote when Max Lucado and Bob Russell will speak together.

This will be a SHAM battle because Max Lucado does not represent churches of Christ and holds the same badly informed view of instrumental music. Which side wins? One suspects that the side the leaders of the workshop have PRE PLANNED.

When the Witty-Murch unity movement was before our people, Bro. H. Leo Boles confronted Bro. Claude F. Witty with six pertinent questions:
1. Are you not a
self-appointed representative of the churches of Christ?

Max Lucado received a vision to remove the name of CHRIST and to add instrumental music. At first it was to be soft strings in an out of the way room. Now, it is fully istrumental and I understand the SABBATARIAN worship (Saturn=666) is Rock and Roll which has to be controlled. The argument was the typical fiction inherited from Farmer's Branch which perverted every Biblical musical term and name of instrument. However, that doesn't matter in the postmodern, post Christendom era. However, it is a fact that his VISION came from Farmer's Branch White paper which this writer was dared to refute. Here is how Max Lucado's vision contradict all facts.

Wade Hodges: One hundred years ago, Acapella Churches of Christ and Independent Christian Churches were officially recognized as two separate "tribes."

I believe that the Disciples denomination had been in operation for many years. It is a fact that no one was so naive as to use the PSALLO word as authority for music until the year 1878. It was Garrisons boast to "take the south for the society within 5 years." That meant a flull fledge denomination intended to include ALL CHRISTENDOM with even children being paid members.

THERE HAD NEVER BEEN ANY CONNECTION BETWEEN THE STONEITES OUT OF CANE RIDGE AND THE REFORMERS DEVOTED TO THE WORD AND NOT TO RITUALS. One of those was the Shouting Methodists as an ACT of worship. My wife came out of that area as a Pilgrim Holiness who could never PRAY THROUGH.

THE SOCIETY TRIED TO CLAIM EVERYONE AS LIFE MEMBERS OBLIGATED TO BUY ALL OF THEIR RESOURCES FROM THEM.

THE CENSUS TAKER KNEW THERE WAS NO WAY FOR THEM TO CLAIM CHURCHES OF CHRIST WHICH WERE RADICALLY DIFFERENT

A SEPARATE CENSUS WAS TAKEN TO EXCLUDE CHURCHES OF CHRIST.

THIS IS WHAT CHURCHES OF CHRIST REFUSED TO JOIN

THE MOVEMENT WAS BIRTHED WITH THE INTENTION OF A WORLD-WIDE INSTITUTION TO INCLUDE "ALL OF CHRISTENDOM"

You can see below that the OFFICIAL counting was not recognized until the INSTITUTION described above had been INSTITUTED.

ADDED NOTES: Postscript:

"Dr. Herman Norton, author of Tennessee Christians, tells the story about the first division usually identified with the U.S. Religious Census of 1906. A preacher by the name of A. I. Myhr came to Tennessee to work for the "organized" missionary societies to win over Tennessee churches of Christ into the ranks of the "organ" and "society" Christian Church. Myhr worked for twenty years (I890-1910) with this one objective in mind. He was supported by the editors of the Christian Standard and the Christian Evangelist.

At the time of his resignation as Secretary of the Tennessee Missionary Society in 1910, he had not won over a single church of Christ in Nashville and met with poor success in both Middle and West Tennessee.

The United States Religious Census officially recognized that two Restoration churches did in fact exist in the 1910 publication.

"Dr. Norton wrote in the Tennessee Christians that during the twenty-year effort in Tennessee, Myhr had succeeded in "engendering a bitter partisan spirit in almost every congregation in the state." And he added, "where there had been one communion, admittedly in discord, when he arrived in the state,

there were now two separate and distinct bodies with no meaningful communication between them" (Tennessee Christians, p. 123).

"When Dr. Shelly came to Nashville some twelve or so years ago, the churches of Christ were at peace. The churches cooperated in many good works. Goodwill prevailed on every hand. This is, sadly, no longer true!"

MANY WHO WERE INSTRUMENTAL REMAINED IN THE DENOMINATION.

HOWEVER, the NACC began in 1927 as a convention for vocational Christian leaders. Since the 1960s, the NACC has been an annual four-day summer convention attracting many vocational and non-vocational Christian leaders and their families. In recent years, the convention has drawn approximately 10,000-15,000 people.

The identifier churches of Christ has been taken and well known to EXCLUDE the instrument.

Disciples of Christ Ultimately, these New Testament churches are very similar to the Churches of Christ. The Disciples of Christ are more liberal, however.

Their second break from the Christian Church/churches of Christ in 1968 was due to the fact that they wanted to become more unified and centralized again. They have moved back to a general stream of Protestantism and now consider themselves a denomination. They have a general assembly that meets every two years demonstrating a profound difference from both the Church of Christ and the Christian Churches/churches of Christ. In fact, there are many overlappings which make it difficult to drawn distinct lines between the three main divisions of the Restoration Movement.

THEY CONFISCATED THE NAME Christian Church/churches of Christ which was birthed to include INSTRUMENTAL churches which still had the name CHURCH OF CHRIST on their sign.

This was then and is used now as an effort to insinuate that there is any connection with those already identified as "the churches of Christ." This forced many congregations to identify themselves as The Church of Christ - Non Instrumental.

The Stoneite group which began in the dark forests of Cane Ridge, in bourbon county, was built on the foundation of witchcraft which had oozed out of the First Great American Awakening and that from Salem Witchcraft. This is strikingly similar to "christian" DEVIL WORSHIP in fairly modern Iraq.

"The prophets of God were not like the raving Pythoness of heathen temples, nor are the saints of God converted into whirling dervishes by an influence which is the author. There can be little doubt that Paul would have severely reprobated such scenes as frequently occurred during the revival of which we are speaking.

"He would have said to the people substantially what he said to the Corinthians. If any unbeliever or ignorant man come to your assemblies and hears one shouting in ecstasy, and another howling in anguish; if he sees some falling, some jumping, some lying in convulsions, others in trances, will he not say ye are mad?" (Hodge, History Presbyterian Church quoted in Barton W. Stones' Biography, p. 368, 369)

The Stoneite churches in the beginning had no distinct connection to the Reformers which has John Calvin to think for speaking where the Bible speaks, the name CHURCH OF CHRIST, firing of non Bible teaching clergy and many other things he called his Restoration Movement.

Conkin notes that--

"This primitivism had great appeal among lay people and continued as a central motif of the later Restoraion churches. Otherwise, it is misleading to refer to these New Light churches as predecessoors of the later Christian-Disciples movement, for in so many ways, beginning with the explosive conversions and the physical exercises and the spiritual gifts, the first New Light churches were closer to later Pentecostals than to contemporary Disciples or the Churches of Christ." (Conkin, p. 132)

"Until 1820 the small Christian movement grew slowly, with its greatest strength in Ohio and Kentucky, but with a scattering of small congregations in Tennessee and Indiana.... He (Stone) early became a baptist but would not make proper baptism a condition of membership.

But by 1820 the movement was clearly baptist, and Stone was able to persuade several small Baptist associations to affiliate with Christian, no major doctrines, but only the issue of names, separated many freewill Baptists from Stone.

By 1820, as Stone indulged in more doctrinal controversies with Presbyterian critics, he elaborated a rather consistent free-will, or complete atonement, profile of beliefs, with a unique conception of faith. He used the word faith for simple belief in the gospel message." (Conkin, p. 146)

While some congregations agreed to forget doctrine and meet in unity which Stone put over truth the was never any roots or connections between the two groups.

The Stoneite preacher drifted into the Churches of Christ, most christian churches in Kentucky converted and only slowly did Stone come to accept Campbell's views. At the beginning there was no difference between the Stoneites and the Baptists but the presumed resting on the Bible for faith and practice. However, this so called CENI principle is articulated in the Bible and was accepted by most church fathers and founders of denominations.

The Disciples tried to "count" the churches of Christ but an honest census man knew better. Therefore, the only thing that happened in 1906 was that churches of Christ refused to be counted just as would the Presbyterians and ALL OF CHRISTENDOM which they wanted to count.

Wade Hodges: Since then, we've traveled in the same direction, but walked down separate paths that have rarely intersected. After many years of prayer and conversation, there is a realization among a growing number from both tribes that We may worship differently, but we worship the same God. Our congregations may not be cookie-cutter replications of each other, but we are still committed to the same mission. Our evening co-keynotes are one way we're acknowledging and celebrating the unity that already exists between our two tribes.

In the same DIRECTION? Not quite. The movement the churches of Christ refused to be DRAFTED INTO because it had not theological connection and no urge to joine a denomination, became the Disciples of Christ denomination with the "conservatives" left out in the cold the RESTRUCT continued the fragmentation all based on no respect for the Word.

"W. T. Moore calls attention to an important result of the union which should not be overlooked: 'From the Campbellian point of view this union had its drawbacks. At the time it was consummated the 'Reformers' were practically sweeping everything before them in the Baptist churches of Kentucky, Ohio, and other places where the 'Christians' had attained considerable influence.

But the union seriously affected the trend of the Baptist churches toward the Reformatory movement. Many of those who had sympathy with the Reformation utterly refused to become associated with a movement which had coalesced with Unitarians and Pedobaptists.' This charge was false, but it had the semblance of truth, and, for a time, it did much injury." (Davis, M. M., Restoration Movement in the 19th Century, p. 157).

By the time of the "union" Samuel Rogers' nots that the UNION was in fact the demise of the Stoneite Movement:

"Then followed a wave of 'Campbellism' that swept the Christians off their feet, and aggregated about eight thousand accessions to the Disciples.

No Christian churches long survived in Tennessee, their cause was ruined in Kentucky and never has regained its former strength or prestige.

Of the southern Ohio Christians a majority of the preachers embraced Campbellism prior to 1837, and only about one thousand church members remained." (Jenning, Walter W., Origin and Early History of the Disciples of Christ, p. 197, Standard).

Churches of Christ no more SPLIT OFF from this group than they SPLIT OFF from the Presbyterians. Here is what they rejected and what the New Missionar Society pushing the MISSIONAL church with APOSTLES and PROPETS will try to do.

Maintaining Unity

Bob Russell -- Christian Church will defend INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
Max Lucado
-- had vision to remove CHRIST and add INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC.

They both use the same collection of false information to prove their point.

After all, the TAG TEAM are both on the same side!

Watch which end the SMOKE comes out and you will know that Wade Hodges is not Navigating the Winds of Change but BLOWING the winds of change. The Agenda of the Tulsa Soul-Selling Working is visible for all to see.
