Comments on Book Rick Warren of Saddleback Community Church recommends that church leaders read "Leading Congregational Change"
"Leading a church to change from being tradition- or program-driven to being purpose-driven is a task filled with all kinds of potentially explosive and divisive issues.
Unfortunately, when the changes are made you will look just like any charismatic (musical) church. So, why is there such a lust to sow discord among brethren to force changes which are explosive or divisive. Can God truly be behind this madness? Do theatrical performers truly want to be "standing in the holy place" when Jesus returns. Well, by definition, theatrical performers will go a gig about anywhere.
Because Larry Sullivan has been called to Madison Church of Christ, Nashville, Tennessee, to help resolve conflict induced from Saddleback Community Church and look-alikes, and may have been recommended by these "musical" agents, we have begun with Saddleback Community Church. Most professional conflict resolution people such as Management versus Labor will resolve the conflict in favor of those who hired him or recommended him. Therefore, because the elders at Madison have decided that the "prayerful brinkmanship" of sowing discord is worth the risk to give Madison Church of Christ a "Second Incarnation" as a community church, we will also end with comments from Saddleback Community Church.

Reconciliation Ministries - With two-thirds of the nation's congregations witnessing flat or declining membership rolls, a solution must be found.
One might better look to the Word of God for a description of the assembly of Christ. There simply is no way to reconcile one Post-Modern or post-Biblical view with an urge in Rubel Shelly's words "to become as much like the world as possible" to win the world.
Let's begin with some things which have contributed to the loss of growth.
First, the rise of the dominant pastor or "one man ministry" is anti-Christ, anti-Biblical and contrary to the early writings of the church Fathers and contrary to the removal of this apostasy during the Restoration movement.
This has had the effect of a emasculating potential male leadership and therefore the Sunday evening services have a congregation "disguised as empty pews." This, in turn, gives opening for female or effeminate leadership "presiding over the flock" as long as she uses a tune. History of the American frontier notes that charismatic religion is always a compact between disenfranchised preachers and disenfranchised women. The prediction of Isaiah is that "women and children will rule over you."
For instance, "contributing liberally does not give you the right to make suggestions." Or, "you will be a liberal giver or you will not be a happy camper around here." Well, people can give and be an unhappy camper or find another place for the money and be a happy camper.
Second, the direct repudiation of Paul's command for a "teaching one another" assembly using the Word of Christ or the Spirit.
This verb "teach" has been replaced with "singing in the rafters" as the operative "act of worship."
This repudiation of Christ by making "singing" the active verb without getting struck with lightening quite naturally leads to the "word of Fanny Crosby or Twila Paris" violently replacing the Word of Christ.
As a result, there is no teaching or "seeing" God in the spirit or mind using Truth or Christ's word and people hunger and thirst for the Word, wander around looking for it, but cannot find it and go into captivity to the denominational world with a better teaching program. See Amos 5, 6 and 8 as well as Isaiah 5 for the "pattern" we are seeing fulfilled.
Without "seeking God in the Word" there is no Spiritual feeding of our spirits and they die.
You can hold a commercial conference to see how to get people to survive on a stripped-bare CORE Word or you can "regenerate" the church and its members by beginning to feed them.
Third, the focus on the city mega-church is a direct fulfillment of the forming of the Israelite nation under kings with all of the financial and human-resources focused on the "buildings and grounds." As fast as Israel could build such temples God tore them down or turned them over to the enemy. What is happening in Madison is a hostile takeover by the Saddleback mentality.
Fourth, the Post-Modern information coming out of the Universities and printing plants has led the same dominant pastors to preach a CORE GOSPEL, declare that there are only seven important facts about Jesus and all of the rest is up to your "taking liberties" in forming your own narrative.

> Rubel Shelly and John York claim that they have taken liberties and made this a "pattern for Christian worship and community."
> Therefore, one might expect to see the Community churches (name stolen) worshiping the Starry hosts.
If the preachers already confess that they have nothing of eternal value to teach you and prove it by "soft" and ecumenical rhetoric then the listeners take that as their liberty to remain at home.
In turn, the preacher has to make the church "as much like the world as possible" to attract those brain-damaged on Rock, Rap and led astray by CCM and its preacher-applauded merchants.
Fifth, no denominational preacher can spend most of his time bad-mouthing and holding Jubilees to repudiate the "old and rotten" still paying him and sending his kids through college without getting fired on the spot. The post-Biblical preachers have no trouble lying by attributing most of what churches of Christ believe to traditionalism
The result is that if churches of Christ have nothing to offer which is more Bible based, then the untaught members take that as a strong suggestion that they need to find a church which is non-sectarian.

Bound by tradition, we often resist the very change our congregations need to survive and thrive. The challenge is to revitalize churches and create a new core,
one that will give church leaders a solid foundation for growing and reinvigorating their people in the joyful spirit of Christianity.
The call for transformation is clear. The harder question of how to transform the local congregation, with all its traditions, intransigent attitudes, programs and patterns, remains.
We don't know the depth of Larry Sullivan's conversion to the "just tradition" sect. Therefore, we do not speak to his stand or motives. However, the beast surely arose to organize a band of merry men in Nashville to focus upon the 'secret code words" which would help them Navigate The Winds of Change without getting caught. A key word is "tradition."
The CHANGE TEAM with Pepperdine to smooth the path preaches that non-instrumental churches of Christ are based 100% on destructive traditionalism. They deliberately ignore the fact that MUSIC is universally repudiated in the Bible, church history and denominational founders. Therefore, when the American Restoration Movement was founded NONE of its components-Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians-used musical instruments. So, mark that down as a DELIBERATE LIE.
Furthermore, they deny that God has the right to COMMAND, EXAMPLE OR INFER anything. They tell their "audience" that this was just FABRICATED. Well, this is another lie: Click here for proof.
For instance, I have posted a dozen reviews of articles which have suddenly decided to attack the non-mediating choir and non-instrumental churches of Christ by claiming that the non use of instruments is based totally on rotten traditionalism or worse. This all came out of the Jubilee movement to "return individual property (congregations) back to the tribe (denomination)."
- Well, this is a case of terminal ignorance or
- It is a case of terminal evil.
There simply is NO MUSIC used in the old or new testament in a religious or WORSHIP sense. The nation of Israel had been turned over to worship the starry host (Acts 7) because they rose up to play the Egyptian worship of singing, dancing and playing instruments. In the classics, "music" usually includes singing and dancing.
There were no musicians: they were overseers or straw bosses to preside at the burning of animals which had been offered in sacrifice.
What is identified as their "service" means "hard bondage." Their SERVICE is identical to the BONDAGE of hell where APOLLO who was worshiped at his SEEKER CENTER at Delphi quite identical to modern "churches." He is ABADDON or APOLLO and the MUSES were his MUSICAL WORSHIP TEAM. This is the end-time time of the Babylon Whore in Revelation 18.
Not in Israel nor the vilest pagan temples did the "musicians" or producers of terrifying SOUND ever go into the Holy Place which was a carnal type of the Church or Body of Christ. The exception is when Zeus or Dionysus (Bacchus) worship went into the MOST HOLY PLACE to worship MUSICIALLY as the Abomination of Desolation.
Furthermore, they were warrior "sounders" to panic the enemy and they drove even Israelites into slavery in order to build Solomon's temple.
When you see the lust for "music" in today's church it is often connected to the need to drive everyone harder to pay off the debt.
On the contrary, while not called "music" singing and playing instruments was connected with the national temple but only in Jerusalem where God quarantined a "like the nations" worship. There are numerous uses of singing and music to identify the king/queen of Tyre and of Babylon and the end-time Babylonian whore in Revelation 18. (Lucifer is bisexual)
Singing and playing is also a clear PATTERN which says that "we will not listen to the Word of God anymore." That is the message in your church suddenly but secretly taken over by a planted "team" sent out to steal your property: "Stealing the church houses of widows" was a trick of the Pharisees probably including having the woman will her property to the clergy rather than provide for her children.
More specifically, the question of how church leaders can implement change, particularly worship changes, in their congregations without prompting conflict is frequently raised.
You will notice that Larry Sullivan does not mention the word "elders." Not once. Why? Why, because the church elders are not THE leaders anymore. The preachers wander from sea to sea and from one evil conference to another trying to find some trick which will justify their disobedience to the will of Christ by redefining himself as a "located evangelist" which is like "located traveling salesman." The information is not fed from the Bible because by definition anyone who can "sermonize" or "versify" God's holy word to "make it more powerful" in reviving the church has not the slightest interest in God or His Word.
All of the trauma can be traced back to the repudiation of the Bible, the Reformation and the Restoration Movement of professional preachers in the local congregation. Because they have accepted an unlawful, unscriptural and un-sensical "Job" there is no love for the truth and God will send the church strong delusions through strong deluders.
Of Willow Creek and imitators: If the prospects get hyped up with the drama music (because of endorphins) they might become Complimentarians or rise to the next level of the group. However, only after the female elder's creed about female leadership has been inculcated and is subscribed to, may one meet the standards of conformity and become a member. Instruments and female elders is next on Madison's agenda if the "moles" can pull it off.
If you look at the CONCENTRIC CIRCLES it will look like a circular TOWER OF BABEL from the TOP. The MINISTRY TEAMS consisted of priests, soothsayers, musicians and prostitutes.

The PDC paradigm uses a diagram of five (concentric) circles of commitment to illustrate Saddleback's goal of moving people from the community (lost) into the core (leaders). The five circles are:
community, crowd, congregation, committed and core and they are broad categories of people groups. The target is who we are trying to reach within a commitment circle.
Events are gatherings where the purposes are presented to a target group (i.e. weekend church services, Bible studies, or small groups). Event features are communication methods used at events (i.e. speaking, drama, music or other creative arts).

If these methods sound suspiciously like the paramilitary Jubilee movements, the German critics take note of Shepherding Movements using "class warfare" where these movements will work:
"Douglass, who has developed the most successful Willow Creek-based church service in Germany, even maintained, "I think this approach is most applicable to the state churches. We have the people, even if they don't attend. We enjoy an incredible edge in confidence vis-àvis the free churches." He cautioned,

The "guilt clause" pulled on Elijah, Jesus, Paul and everyone else who has been faithful to the Word goes something like this:
You shoot me in the heart. I squirt blood on your new shirt. You kick me in a soft spot on the way down. You accuse me of your crime.

So, rather than just quit "sowing discord among the brethren" created largely by the universities, they organize a band to help the change agents get by with it.
If someone is trying to change your worship through the Word to Idolized worship by a Praise Team then the change agents have deliberately created the strife. In the words of Lynn Anderson, this is "prayerful brinkmanship." If the deliberate sowing of discord gets to dangerous to your meal ticket, you pull back and be "more traditional" until the opposition dies down or been spiritually murdered. When you get infiltrated into one group then you weasel into another.

The backlash that change sometimes creates can be severe, even resulting in the loss of church members. Jim Herrington, Mike Bonem and James Furr have been addressing these very matters for more than a decade in churches of the Union Baptist Association in Houston. Their book, Leading Congregational Change, accompanied by a workbook for congregational use, presents their insights and practices into simple but powerful concepts for transforming congregations.

We have noted that churches which have long been "musical" are having the same problems as the non-instrumental church of Christ. Very musical churches ask "how can we stop the loss of our children?" The problem in musical churches is over the "New Style Music" which is sexual or erotic. This includes Jazz (that "f" word from Voodoo), hip hop (ditto).
The problem, dear friend is that you are depending on the "ARTS" as Satan's oldest tool in recorded history which goes back 2,000 years before Moses wrote God's "corrective" for Israel which excluded music or the WORSHIP OF THE STARS but "turned them over to it" when they insisted.
"MUSIC" in any "performed" is the thorn in the flesh of people. It is the "spiritual anxiety created by religious ritual" which Jesus died to remove. He gave us "rest." That means that worship is "in spirit" or in the mind or heart and not remotely possible in or with the body. If you try to induce some feeling in me and call it "worship" or "spiritual" God calls you a liar and calls it "spiritual adultery"-- just stroking the people without going to jail.
So, stop the band and the "sowing of discord" will all go away.

Music produces a DRUG HIGH from endorphins. Therefore, the PURPOSE of the PURPOSE DRIVEN CHURCH is to damage or molest your God-given emergency mechanism. They then lie about TITHING and make you PURCHASE their Satanic Damage to your mind and body.

Our sense of identity is threatened; the world is not as we experienced it before, and since self and world are always correlated, we no longer are what we were before. Past, present, and future form a new Gestalt.
So music is a uniquely human form of communication. It appeals to some low level of human thought, and it reaches us in a different way than. Hyde writes that

Like the Gnostic Zoe Movement, everyone seems to have a pagan-like way to prop up the failed "male gods" and come to their aid to keep the sky from falling. However, spiritual transformation comes from feeding on the Spirit Word.

Jesus said that SPEAKING ON HIS OWN was what made the Devil the father of liars:

and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Col.3:10
he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, Tit.3:5
The ritualized, pagan and superstitious "praise" service believes that it has through its own words and body "knowing" of God to "be regenerated through external means." Now, that is legalistic, Pharisaical and anti-Christian.
The process model they provide can help any church that passionately desires to pursue God's vision.
First, you have to repudiate God and His Word, become Post-Biblical and trust in human institutions to save you.
I have watched labor relations people work in business. The role is to force the Boss' opinion on to the labor force. You do that by a dialectic (Marxist) process of proposing solutions until you finally hit on the one the boss wanted in the first place. For this to work, someone has to convince you that there is no right and no wrong: we will all just get along if we arrive at a worldly compromise. Of course, the "outcome based seminar" is that my "lording it over the flock" is going to stand "spite of hell."
However, there is no role for "command leadership" in the Church of Christ. In the end, the elders do not care what the flock wants or they would not have allowed the singing, dancing, clapping effeminate crowd to sneak in with a "Purpose Driven" goal to add your congregation to your new "Denomination."
The DNA is the "pattern" we have heard abused so often. It says that I can write a book which has God's life principle for His own Body in order to complete what He was unable to accomplish through the "dying to self" principle and the regeneration through "giving heed" to the Word. This is the only "worship" word included in the New Testament. And the collectivized "community" has no other role to play so its "ministry system" is the curse God imposed on Israel when they said "set a king over us."

"This is the seventeenth day of the Festival of Mars. The daily spectacle of the priests of Mars leaping and dancing through the streets of Rome would continue this day. In fact, the multiple processions going on throughout the day would have borne a resemblance to the multiple parades that go on throughout New Orleans during Mardi Gras. The philosopher emperor Marcus Aurelius died this day in 186 AD. On this day the Bacchanalia, the Festival of Bacchus, would have continued.
Tertullian in The Spectacle notes of the NEW WINESKINS GOD AND GODDESS:
"But Venus (Lucifer, ZOE) and Bacchus are close allies. These two evil spirits are in sworn confederacy with each other, as the patrons of drunkenness and lust. So the theatre of Venus (ZOE) is as well the house of Bacchus: for they properly gave the name of Liberalia also to other theatrical amusements-which besides being consecrated to Bacchus (as were the Dionysia of the Greeks), were instituted by him; and, without doubt,
the performances of the theatre have the common patronage of these two deities.
That immodesty of gesture and attire which so specially and peculiarly characterizes the stage are consecrated to them-the one deity wanton by her sex, the other by his drapery;
while its services of voice, and song, and lute, and pipe, belong to Apollos, and Muses, and Minervas, and Mercuries.
In Dionysus worship used as the Abomination of Desolation in the temple and used to mock Jesus, the comedy is just TOO, TOO funny:
In the Comedies the high-and-mighty, whether God or mortal, will be lampooned. Comedy (Côm-ôidia = Cômos-song) echoes the less formal Revels (Cômoi), both of which celebrate the resurgence of Indestructible Life. The comic actors wear grotesque masks and over-stuffed body-suits with padded buttocks and stomach and a large leather phallus - even if the actor is playing a female character!
This is because Comedy harks back to our rural Phallic Processions to invoke the powers of Fertility and to drive off pestilence. These processions include Contests (Agones) in which the bystanders and members of the procession will hurl verbal abuse and invective at each other (a magical act in itself, as many know). So also, Comedy incorporates such Contests, between the actors, between the chorus and an actor, and between two hostile semichoruses.
The Comic Chorus is larger than the Tragic, 24, often in rectangular formation (4X6 or 6X4). They may wear elaborate robes representing animals, clouds, cities, etc., which may be removed for part of the performance. The chorus members engage in both solo and ensemble song and dance. Many dance forms will occurr in the Comedies, including parodies of those used in Tragedy and religious Ritual. As in the Tragedies there may be ritualized slapping and beating to stimulate Life, promote Fertility and drive out Evil, as well as spinning, leaping, high kicking and hopping.
The Kordax is the most characteristic dance of Comedy; some say it promotes Fertility, like the Courtesan's Dance to which it is probably related.
In the Ancient Near Eastern texts, the Bible, the Classical writers about Greek mythology, this is exactly the definition of Satan-Driven false worship.

Apollo unleashes the LOCUSTS which were musical performers. In the Babylon Whore religion they are the MUSES.

Lord Jesus Christ is the ONLY OTHER person they tried to force to do this dance:
"And the means too of the victory were worthy of the deeds done. For, "The daughter of Herodias," it is said, "danced in the midst, and pleased Herod. Whereupon he swore with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask. And she being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.
Her reproach is twofold; first, that she danced, then that she pleased him, and so pleased him, as to obtain even murder for her reward.
Hearken, ye virgins, or rather ye wives also, as many as consent to such unseemliness at other person's weddings, leaping, and bounding, and disgracing our common nature.
Hearken, ye men too, as many as follow after those banquets, full of expense and drunkenness, and fear ye the gulf of the evil one. For indeed so mightily did he seize upon that wretched person just then, that he sware even to give the half of his kingdom: this being Mark's statement, "He sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
Such was the value he set upon his royal power; so was he once for all made captive by his passion, as to give up his kingdom for a dance.
And why marvel at these things so happening then, since even now, after the coming in of so high a wisdom,
for a dance' sake many of these effeminate young men give up their very souls, and that without constraint of any oath?
For being made captive by the pleasure, they are led like sheep, wheresoever the wolf may drag them; which was then the case with that frenzied man, who was guilty of two extreme acts of madness;
first, in making it depend on her that was so maddened, and intoxicated with her passion, and shrinking from nothing; next, in making the deed fast with the constraint of an oath.
For where dancing is, there is the evil one. For neither did God give us feet for this end, but that we may walk orderly: not that we may behave ourselves unseemly, not that we may jump like camels (for even they too are disagreeable when dancing, much more women), but that we may join the choirs of angels.
For if the body is base, thus making itself unseemly, much more the soul. Like this is the dancing of the demons, like this, the jesting of such as are servants of the demons.
The Dithramb was the hymn with dance the Jewish Clergy tried to seduce Jesus into when they "piped" like children. Jesus didn't dance then and He will not dance now. You will have tried to seduce Him into a sexual embrace: daring to dance with God and you will not be forgiven.
The "liturgical area" in church architecture is defined as the "holy place." The musical and theatrical performers quite rapidly transfer from "song leaders" to IDOLS of what worship should look like. Therefore, if you look at them and do what they do then your worship will be just as "good" as theirs. Many go on to claim that "we are priests" and "we are mediators between God and man." Rubel Shelly, for instance, says that the Musical Worship Facilitator can "lead the worshipers into the presence of God." That means: the worship team is the new mediator or mediatrix replacing Jesus Christ.
Therefore, this system is so popular because it is not remotely Scriptural. God, Christ, the Bible nor the church have ever enjoyed popularity. When you see the "Abominations of Desolation standing in the holy place claiming to be God then flee for your lives."
We are not impressed that people turn from Christ and His Word to popular, theatrical performers which meets the demand of all ancient priests and prophets
'Certain members of a tribe, marked out either by unusual skills or by some emotional abnormality, usually became particularly adept at these operations, and gradually assumed specialized functions. Released from the duty of hunting, and concentrating on the practice of magic, the shaman, sorcerer, or medicine man was the world's first professional." "The development both of religion and of the arts can be traced back in a continuous line to the hunting era. The group ritual of the primeval tribesmen were the origin not only of all religious ceremonial, but also of the drama and of poetry and music, while magic gave birth to the visual arts." (Parkes, p. 30).
This is why "music" nor "religious ceremonial" are not prescribed for any worship to God anywhere in the Old or New Testament. No. You are thinking about the Israelites sentenced to "worship the starry host" because of their musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.
"Awed by the mysteries of his own spirit no less than by those of nature, primitive man was likely to attribute to divine influence
any abnormal emotional state, whether above or below the usual level. Medicine men customarily went into states of trance in which they were believed to be in communication with the gods,
and many tribes supposed lunatics and sexual deviants to be divinely possessed.
In most early societies, moreover, men evolved techniques for deliberately inducing the abnormal forms of consciousness in which they supposed themselves to achieve union with divine power, sometimes by the use of drugs and other physiological stimuli, sometimes by hypnotic dances and music. The wild utterances to which they gave vent on such occasions were regarded as the words of a god and were interpreted as divine commands or predictions of future events." (Parkes, p. 32-33).
So, the Purpose to which most "religionists" are driven (always the majority) is to be so stressed out by society and their total lack of confidence in God that they, in the words of Joseph Campbell, fall back into the archaic or primitive state of mankind seeking solace from their lostness through music and drugs--music produces endorphins (morphine within) one of the most powerful drugs producing the symptoms of "fight, flight or sex."
Dancing or drama or any body movements produce the same "focus" upon the theatrical performer. We worship whatever we give heed to. Therefore, the theatrical performers accept the worship due only to God. And this, in turn, is the story of Satan teaching the youth how to play instruments (without warrant with Jubal) so that he could get the praise due God.
This relapse into paganism always attends some real or expected earth-shattering event. The lying hype about Jubilee 2000 when, in one "Father's" vision, "Mary (ZOE) would come and kill all of the pagans and Masons." However, this too will pass and everyone needs something to repent about and blush about in their maturity.
CONCLUSION: Just call the Purpose Driven Cult WITCHCRAFT.
