Romans 4

Is Salvation by Faith-Only true or false: Romans 4 denies that the Jews were justified by the Law of Moses. All godly people are justified by faith: this does not acquit them of sin but gives them the right to Call upon the name of the Lord requesting A holy spirit or A good conscience. Paul affirms that the musical fall from Grace at Mount Sinai proves that the Jews were not righteous because God had picked them for a task. Another paper shows the result of falling from grace because of musical idolatry. Click Here.

See our Review of Tim Alexander imposing Calvinism in a Church of Christ.

Romans 1 begins with Paul rehearsing some Jewish history to prove that they were not righteous just because God gave them the Law of Moses.  Over and over Paul shows how they fell from grace beginning with musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.  The Law of Moses replaced The Book of The Covenant of Grace and God abandoned them to their old Egyptian worship.  The Jews and Gentiles stood where Abraham stood: he was justified by FAITH after he obeyed God's commands BEFORE The Law of Moses.  In Galatians 3 Paul will confirm that there was only one Covenant of Grace: those who were baptized into or clothed with Christ became children of Abraham.

THE FAITH is THE GOSPEL or the Christian System and NOT one's supernatural personal belief. THE WORKS speaks of THE LAW of Moses.  Romans 4 is used to DENY the need to obey the prophecy of baptism by Christ in Spirit in Isaiah, Malachi and other places. You cannot hack away at all of the direct connections between Baptism and the Remission of sins without declaring that Jesus Christ, the apostles and most of church history were mistaken or just flat liars.  Romans 4 has a Romans 1 before it where Paul defined the FALLS from Grace when people used their own human lusts to give everyone permission to ignore the Words of God.  The denial of sins which God will NOT forgive without obeying His direct commands is always lumped with people who see "church" as a paganistic worship center and deny that it is a School of the Word of God--only.  They fail to grasp that the Law of Moses period was God having abandoned them to musical idolatry  which is always a virtual attempt to use sexual rituals to "bind the flesh and spirit together." For instance, Nimrod had his own musical team and taught people that they could become purified by EXTERNAL MEANS.  Of the Jews:

[[Vol. 2, Page]] 45 THE HEBREW KADESHIM. the Eleusinian. Thus "Bacchus was directly called upon," he says. The Sabazian worship was Sabbatic; the names Evius, or Hevius, and Luaios are identical with Hivite and Levite.

The French name Louis is the Hebrew Levi; Iacchus again is Iao or Jehovah; and Baal or Adon, like Bacchus, was a phallic god.

"Who shall ascend into the hill (the HIGH place) of the Lord?" asks the holy king David, "who shall stand in the place of his Kadushu"? (Psalms xxiv. 3). Kadesh may mean in one sense to devote, hallow, sanctify, and even to initiate or to set apart; but it also means the ministers of lascivious rites (the Venus-worship) and the true interpretation of the word Kadesh is bluntly rendered in Deuteronomy xxiii. 17; Hosea iv. 14; and Genesis xxxviii., from verses 15 to 22. The "holy" Kadeshuth of the Bible were identical as to the duties of their office with the Nautch-girls of the later Hindu pagodas.

Deut 23:17 There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
Deut 23:18
Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the Lord thy God.

3611. keleb, keh┤-leb; from an unused root means. to yelp, or else to attack; a dog; hence (by euphemism) a male prostitute:--dog.

Hos 4:14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.

The Hebrew Kadeshim or galli lived "by the house of the Lord, where the women wove hangings for the grove," or bust of Venus-Astarte, says verse the seventh in the twenty-third chapter of 2 Kings.

Paul excluded the wrath or orgy produced when masculine males do not keep the females and effeminant in check. When you hear the SOUNDS of music being called worship of a Holy Spirit God you know why Paul warned the Jews that they had fallen from grace because of Musical idolatry at Mount Sinai (1 Cor 10; Romans 10) and were therefore NOT the patternism for righteousness which they could impose on the Gentiles.

Tacitus, The Annals BOOK 1: A.D. 14, 15
This was the beginning of demoralization among the troops, of quarreling, of listening to the talk of every pestilent fellow, in short, of craving for luxury and idleness and loathing discipline and toil.
        In the camp was one Percennius, who had once been a leader of one of the theatrical factions, then became a common soldier, had a saucy tongue, and had learnt from his applause of actors how to stir up a crowd. By working on ignorant minds, which doubted as to what would be the terms of military service after Augustus, this man gradually influenced them in conversations at night or at nightfall, and when the better [p. 15] men had dispersed, he gathered round him all the worst spirits.
Sexual perversion was always the end of the road for people who substitutes the lust of the ears and eyes for reading and obeying the Word of God. The Book of Enoch tells how music is both a MARK and a CAUSE of sexual perversion: it was introduced by Lucifer called the singing and harp playing prostitute in the garden of Eden.

In Romans 2 Paul DISMISSED the JEWS as Patternism

Rom 2:1 THEREFORE thou art inexcusable, O man,
........... whosoever thou art that judgest:
........... for wherein thou judgest another,
........... thou condemnest thyself;
........... for thou that judgest doest the same things.

Rom 2:2 But we are sure that the judgment of God
........... is according to truth
........... against them which commit such things.

Rom 2:3 And thinkest thou this,
........... O man, that judgest them which do such things,
........... and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering;
........... not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Rom 2:5 But, after thy hardness and impenitent heart,
........... treasurest up unto thyself wrath against
........... the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

Rom 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
Rom 2:7 To them who by patient
continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:

Heb.11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Rom 2:8 But unto them that are contentious,
........... and do not obey the truth,
........... but obey unrighteousness,
........... indignation and wrath,

Ro. 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things

Ro.10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
Ro. 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2 Thess 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

2 Thess 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

IN ROMANS 3 THE STORY LINE IS STILL BETWEEN BEING JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW OF MOSES AND BEING JUSTIFIED BY THE FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST.

That Faith in what Jesus Christ has accomplished puts both Jew and Gentile on the same standing: both are ACCEPTABLE to God based on their faith him Jesus Christ. That gives both the LEGAL STANDING to be baptised as the only WAY to request A holy spirit or A good conscience.  Only those so baptized will ever be able to read BLACK text on BROWN paper.

Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of THE law.
Is that a one-step pattern for salvation? No.  THE FAITH is THE GOSPEL and the Jews were never justified by THE LAW.
Rom 3:29 Is he the God of the JEWS only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
Rom 3:30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
The Jews said that Gentiles were not JUSTIFIED meaning that they had NO RIGHT to plead to God FOR A holy spirit or A good conscience AS A RESULT of baptism UNTIL they were circumcised and obeyed the Law of Moses. This is similar to some Baptist view that you have to live LEGALISTICALLY until you scream for help. Then God gives you the High Five to SAVE you.  However, you have to have Baptist dogma inculcated and then if they APPROVE you then you can be baptized BECAUSE of the remission of sins. This is idential to Pagan Baptism where you were purified by some external experience produced by Apollo's music. If you fell into some experience it was proof that Abaddon or Apolyon had WASHED you. Then, you could be baptized. This is Baptist's Believer's Baptism

If only those under THE LAW of Moses were justified then what about all of those people who were righteous or justified BEFORE the Law of Moses BECAUSE they obeyed God's righteous law but NOT that of the Jews.

Rom 4:1 WHAT shall we say then that Abraham our father,
............ as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?

Rom 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

Rom 4:3 For what saith the scripture?
............ Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Abraham was not SAVED by FAITH: the word is JUSTIFIED.  Abraham was justified because He opeyed all of God's laws, covenants, decrees and covenants (Gen 26:5).

Paul is discussing JUSTIFIED by law which is SALVATION but meaning NOT ceremonially unclean.

Moses lived 430 years before THE LAW and no one was justified or made righteous by THE LAW which is THE SUBJECT.

1Ti.1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man,

but for the lawless and disobedient,
for the ungodly
and for sinners,
for unholy and profane,
for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers,
for manslayers,

1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons,

and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
1:11 According to the glorious gospel
of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

God is NEVER without His LAWS for trees and people. Paul speaks of THE LAW OF MOSES and if you stretch that to deny God the right to LEGISLATE for our faith and practice then Jesus using the word APISTOS calls you a rebel and treacherous. Abraham was JUSTIFIED and not REGENERATED by faith but FAITH is a silly word if you EMPTY it of works or obeying whatever you TRUST.

God picked Abraham because of His GRACE but not at random. Abraham kept God's LAWS by FAITH when he did the WORK. However, this was not WORKS OF THE LAW OF MOSES.

Gen 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws

Peter understood and discipled Jews who WALKED by the same rule. Gentiles were accepted on the same basis:

        But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. Ac.10:35

Only those people were candidates for baptism and John the Baptist turned them away from the water.

Rom 4:4 Now to him that worketh [THE law] is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

The Israelites refused to listen to the Words of God: Paul said that they were blinded until they converter or were baptized into Christ (2 Cor 3).  Moses had warned:

Deut. 18:17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
Deut. 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren,
        like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth;
        and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
Deut. 18:19 And it shall come to pass,
        that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
Deut. 18:20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name,
        which I have not commanded him to speak,
        or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

Because they refused to listen to God we find Paul is warning about the musical fall from grace at Mount Sinai here and also in 1 Corinthians 10 as demon worship. He is quoting from Deuteronomy:

Deut. 30:10 If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God,
        to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law,
        and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
Deut. 30:11 For this commandment which I command thee this day,
        it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
Deut. 30:12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say,
        Who shall go up for us to heaven,
        and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
Deut. 30:13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say,
        Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
Deut. 30:14 But the word is very nigh unto thee,
        in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

Again, the problem was in rejecting God's protective laws and turning to pagan musical rituals:

 Rom. 10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness,
        and going about to establish their own righteousness,
        have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Rom. 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Rom. 10:5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law,
        That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
Rom. 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise,
        Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven?
        (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
Rom. 10:7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep?
        (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
Rom. 10:8 But what saith it?
        The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth,
        and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

Rom 10:12 For there is NO DIFFERENCE between the Jew and the Greek:
Rom 10:13 for the SAME Lord over all is rich unto all THAT CALL UPON HIM.
........... For whosoever shall CALL upon the NAME of the Lord shall be saved.
Acts 2:38 baptism is into the NAME or calling upon the name.
Acts 22:16 Baptism washes away sins because it CALLS upon the Name.
1 Pe 3:21 Baptism saves because it ASKS for A good conscience or A holy spirit.
No, Max, is wrong: you cannot be saved by looking up and saying "father" or "wow."

How then shall they call on him in whom
they have not
BELIEVED? and

how shall they believe in him of whom they have not HEARD? and
how shall they hear without a
PREACHER (Kerusso Herald)? Rom 10:14

SEEMS THAT CALVIN IS CORRECT: NO ONE HEARS THE SPIRIT OR BELIEVES WITHOUT HEARING THE WORD.

Rom 10:15 And how shall they preach (Go and herald),
except they be sent? as it is written,
How beautiful are the FEET of them that
preach the gospel of peace, and
BRING glad tidings of good things
NOW NOTICE THAT HE THAT OBEY THE GOSPEL IS THE ONE WHO HATH BELIEVED
But they have not all OBEYED the GOSPEL. For Esaias saith, Lord,
who hath BELIEVED our report? Rom 10:16
So then FAITH cometh by HEARING, and hearing by the WORD of God. Rom 10:17
The service of the Levitical Noise makers (not musicians) is called WORK or HARD BONDAGE. Almost all who teach FAITH ONLY without any support from their historical scholars are THE very onews ho IMPOSE legalistic works on the "lambs" by forcing them to DRINK during the sounds of rushing waters creating FEAR and WAR agaisnt the Word.

The SERVICE of the Levite singers and instrumentalists who made NOISE to make the lambs dumb before the slaughter means HARD BONDAGE or SLAVERY having the same meaning of the Abaddon or Apollyon in Revelation who used the Muses or dirty adulteress musicians as his "worship team." In Revelation 17 the Babylon mother of harlots used lusted after fruits as speakers, singers and instrument players.  John called them SORCERERS who had deceived the whole world.  Of the Levites "musical instruments."

Organon , to, ( [ergon, erd˘] ) I. an implement, instrument, engine of any kind
A. instrument, implement, tool, for making or doing a thing
3.musical instrument, [Including Jubal's organ which he played WITHOUT AUTHORITY]
Ergon  [Erg˘] I.work, 1. in Il. mostly of deeds of war, 3. a hard piece of work, a hard task
Others were justified by Faith and they attended the synagogue which is defined as the church in the wilderness.  The tribe of Levi had no inheritance and they performed the Civil sacrifices as an imposed curse.  The loud NOISE was to make sure that none of the "church" crowd were inside the city gates.

Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not,
............ but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly,
............ his faith is counted for righteousness.

That does not mean that we do not have to obey the commands of Christ to be saved: it just says to the Jews that the works of the Law of Moses did not save them because they never understood the SPIRIT of the LETTER or the meaning.

1Co.7:19 7 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing
        but the keeping of the commandment
s of God
.
Ga.5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision;

but faith which worketh by love.
Ga.6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision,

but a new creature.

Ja. 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works,
        when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

Ja. 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works,
        and by works was faith made perfect?

Ja.2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith,
        Abraham
believed God,
        and it
was imputed unto him for righteousness:
        and he was called the Friend of God.

WORKETH NOT speaks of the Jews depending on THE LAW OF WORKS which had no effect on the human spirit.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
        (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)
        full of grace and truth.
John 1:15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake,
        He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
John 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses,
        but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Righteousness means "NOT ceremonially unclean as the Jews taught." A person is considered JUST and RIGHT if they live consistent with the laws of their community. I am a JUST person in my county because if someone misses a coon dog the Sheriff will NOT come knocking on my door. That does not mean that I am Mr. Clean.
Acts 10:22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion,
        a just man, and one that feareth God,
        and of good report among all the nation of the Jews,
        was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house,
        and to hear words of thee.
Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Acts 10:35 But in every nation

        and
WORKETH [to toil committed to]
                righteousness, [equity of character, innocent, just]
        is
ACCEPTED with him.  [approved, propitious]
        1John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that DOETH righteousness IS righteous, even as he is righteous.
  1. Being RIGHTEOUS does not mean the REMISSION of sins which comes ONLY to those who have OBEYED in baptism.
  2. Being RIGHTEOUS does not mean that Christ has ADDED you to His Kingdom.
  3. Being RIGHTEOUS just means that by FAITH (and not THE Law of Moses) you are ELEGIBLE to be baptized.
  4. IF you have RECEIVED the WORD you will DEFACTO be baptized to WASH AWAY THY SINS.
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:
        and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people.
        And the Lord added to the church daily such as [were being] saved.
Acts 13:23 Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
Acts 13:24 When John had first
        preached before his coming
        the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
Acts 13:25 And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he.
        But, behold, there cometh one after me,
        whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
Acts 13:26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham,
        and whosoever among you feareth God,
        to you is the word of this salvation sent.

The POINT is not a "one step process for salvation." If you miss the POINT then you reach a dangerous conclusion.

A PERSON WHO IS JUSTIFIED IS A PERSON WHO IS NOT CEREMONIALLY IMPURE. We are JUSTIFIED by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. That puts both Jew and Gentile on the same plane. If they have faith then they are JUSTIFIED which means that:
THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO PLEAD FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.

John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Really? All of them? Is this an absolutist term? No. The Jews as a nation rejected God. However, salvation is to the INDIVIDUAL now:

Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:

  3. We are baptized by GRACE instead of having to be pinned on a stake and shed OUR blood.

When you have to EXPLAIN AWAY what the text MAKES CLEAR you may have exhausted God's Grace.

Tupos (g5179) too'-pos; from 5180; a die (as struck), i.e. (by impl.) a stamp or scar; by anal. a shape, i.e. a statue, (fig.) style or resemblance; spec. a sampler ("type"), i.e. a model (for imitation) or instance (for warning): - en- (ex-) ample, fashion, figure, form, manner, pattern, print.

Maybe YOU can be SAVED without the REMISSION OF SINS (connected only to baptism) but I DON'T THINK you can go into the Most Holy Place wearing DIRTY CLOTHES.  Paul says we are saved BY FAITH when we are BAPTIZED to be CLOTHED with Christ. Then we have A holy spirit translated into heaven WHEN we are added to the CHURCH which is AFTER we have been baptized.

To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all,
........... and to the Spirits of just men made perfect, Heb 12:23

What HINDERED the eunuch from being baptized? If you believe THEN you may be baptized. If you are baptized THEN God will remit your sins and give you A holy spirit because belief JUSTIFIED you and gave you the right to ask to be pardoned. In a law sense, if you are a righteous person who observes good conduct AND you believe in Jesus christ then you have LEGAL STANDING. However, MANY believed but refused to confess and exercise the POWER which faith gave them.

You can be RIGHTEOUS by faith and still NOT be saved. Righteousness DOES NOT MEAN saved.

CORNELIUS WAS A RIGHTEOUS MAN BUT HE NEEDED TO BE TOLD TO BE BAPTIZED TO BE SAVED.
Acts 11:14 Who shall tell thee words,
        whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized,
        which have received the Holy Ghost [The WORD as they HEARD] as well as we?
Acts 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
PAUL never speaks of a ONE STEP PATTERNISM FOR SALVATION: the SUBJECT is THE LAW versus THE FAITH.

QUOTING DAVID

Rom 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man,
............ unto whom God imputeth righteousness without WORKS,

WORKS UNDER CONSIDERATION WAS THE LAW OF MOSES IMPOSED BECAUSE OF MUSICAL IDOLATRY.

Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

Gal. 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal. 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have been clothed with Christ.
Gal. 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free,

        there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal. 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Euripides, Heracles

Chorus
Dear to me is youth always, but old age is hanging over my head, a burden heavier [640] than Aetna's crags, casting its pall of gloom upon my eyes. Oh! never may the wealth of Asia's kings tempt me [645] to barter for houses stored with gold my happy youth, which is in wealth and poverty alike most fair! But old age is gloomy and deadly; [650] I hate it; let it sink beneath the waves! Would it had never found its way to the homes and towns of mortal men, but were still drifting on for ever down the wind.

Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

God does not keep an account book.

Rom 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world:

sin is not imputed when there is no law.

The story of David's life is a catalog of all of the sins which mankind can commit including adultery and murder. In fact, God calls him, in our language, "Old bloody hands." Too bloody to even build a house which God neither wanted nor needed. Therefore, David is not their example of one who could save himself through the law. Rather, David is the extreme model of God showing grace to one who does not deserve it. Because Paul was the New Testament model of undeserved grace he could identify with David.

Paul could never use the Psalms as proof that God accepts simple faith as a replacement for honoring God by honoring His Word because the first Psalm begins to DENOUNCE all of the theatrical performances and "worship rituals." Psalm 1 defines the PLACES in the theater.

Psa 1:1 BLESSED is the man that
............ [1] walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
............ nor [2] standeth in the way of sinners,
............ nor [3] sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his [4] delight is in the law of the Lord;
............ and in his law doth he [5] meditate day and night. Psa 1:2

And he shall be [6] like a tree [7] planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psa 1:3

THE SPIRITUAL PEOPLE WERE DEVOTED TO THE WORD OF GOD

Jer 15:16 Thy words were found,

        thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for
        I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.

JEREMIAH DID NOT ATTEND THE ASSEMBLIES OF THE TRIBE OF LEVI

Je.15:17 I sat not in the ASSEMBLY of the MOCKERS, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.

This defines the MINSTRELS or PIPE PLAYERS whom Jesus cast out like Dung. It also in Greek defines CLANGING CYMBALS.

JACOB WARNED US ALL NOT TO ATTEND THE SACRIFICIAL SYSTEM

Gen. 49:5 Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.
Gen. 49:6 O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united:

Gen. 49:7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

Now, by directly quoting Psalm 32 Paul intended that we look where he pointed so that we might understand what he understood. Part of this Psalm reads and show HOW PEOPLE WOUND JESUS CHRIST h2490

Is.53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Is.53:5 But he was WOUNDED for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Is.53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

Is.53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors: and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

TO WHO DOES GOD NOT IMPUTE SIN.

Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

(A Psalm of David, Maschil proverb or dark saying.)

BLESSED is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Psa 32:1

Blessed is the man unto whom
............ the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and
............[1]  in whose spirit there is no guile. [treachery] Psa 32:2

Jesus said "he that believth AND is baptized SHALL BE saved." That is sin is NOT imputed to you even though you are NOT personally deserving.

God tives you a PERSONAL spirit or A holy spirit in which there is no treachery.
Jesus said that if you don't believe that you are an
Apistos or an UNbeliever.
That word means that you are
TREACHEROUS.

The Lord does not FABRICATEor PLOT iniquity: don't blame GOD. h2803    David did NOT blame God for IMPUTING iniquity because in God's SPIRIT there is NO GUILE.  God only places blame on those who violate HIS commandments which means to do evil

IMPUTE: H2803 chÔshab khaw-shab' A primitive root; properly to plait or interpenetrate, that is, (literally) to weave or (generally) to fabricate; figuratively to plot or contrive (usually in a malicious sense);

God does not IMPUTE or invent SONGS: to think out, to invent, to compose, as songs [music] Amos 6:5 That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;

God does not impute iniquity to "a spirit there is no Guile." That is, God never calls innocent people evil.

James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God:
        for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Nor does God IMPUTE righteousness just because David kept the Law of Moses.  Peter says that baptism saves because it is a REQUEST for A good conscience or A holy spirit. That means that you cannot be dipped in water enough times that God adds it up in His mind as something of vale. Requestion salvation does not COUNT one's own ability but ACCEPTS God's ability

He that BELIEVETH NOT (Apistos) Jesus's statement HE that believeth AND is baptized SHALL BE saved is defined as TREACHEROUS.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. Psa 32:3

For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. Psa 32:4

[2] I acknowledged my sin unto thee,
         and mine iniquity

         and thou
[5] forgavest the iniquity of MY sin. Selah. Psa 32:5

For this shall
[6] every one that is godly [even pious Gentiles]

[7] pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found:
         surely in the floods of great waters
         they shall not come nigh unto him. Psa 32:6

Psa. 32:7 Thou art my
[7] hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
        thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

These SONGS from God define the synagogue or church.

Psa. 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee
        in the way which thou shalt go:
        I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psa. 32:9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule,
        which have no understanding:
        whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle,
        lest they come near unto thee.

Psa. 32:10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: [morally Evil]
        but he that
trusteth in the LORD, [To GO TO for refuge]
        mercy shall compass him about.
Psa. 32:11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice,
        ye righteous: and shout for joy,
        all ye that are
upright in heart.

In the pagan definition of the FLOODS OF GREAT WATERS we know that Noah was saved when he believed and trusted in came UNDER the blood symbolized by the red pitch without and within. The ARK is not a boat but a coffin.

Satan threatens the souls of EVERY PERSON without Christ. The Creation, Flood and Red Sea battle with the waters will STILL attack you. However, in the ARK of baptism we are hidden and clothed with Christ so that we ESCAPE through the waters. When we arise out of the waters our Spirits are SEALED and "translated into a heavenly kingdom." When you deny the WATER you are just like those who mocked Noah and those who refused to walk through the Red Sea.

Jesus said clearly that if you DON'T believe "he that believeth AND is baptized SHALL BE saved." If you do not believe that direct statement the word APISTOS defines you as TREACHEROUS and David's statement gives NO avenue open for God to IMPUTE righteousness even when you are not.

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. Psa 32:7

Paul connected that to BAPTISM where we enter death with Christ . We are saved in the great floods of water ONLY if we are IN Christ or IN the Ark: the old man of sin is DROWNED while the new man arises to a new earth and a new life:

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust,
............ that he might bring us to God,
............ being put to death in the flesh,
............ but quickened by the Spirit: 1 Pet 3:18

By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 1 Pet 3:19

Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 1 Pet 3:20

The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of [a prayer FOR] a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: 1 Pet 3:21

Paul's PROOF TEXT Proves that a sinner must repent, confess and pray THEN God COVERS the sin but does not make David inherently SANCTIFIED as Calvinists insist when God GIVES them the faith and saves them IN CONFLICT with this proof text.

This means that people SIN but if they walk by faith in God, He does not keep an inventory of the sin. However, when God came into the world as the Living Word and died for our sins, He gave us power to be forgiven of sins IN REALITY and not just in His mind.

Acts 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and mans device.

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Acts 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which
............ he will judge the world in righteousness
............ by that man whom he hath ordained;
............ whereof he hath given assurance unto all men,
............ in that he hath raised him from the dead.

John 12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

John 12:45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

John 12:46 I am come a light into the world,
............ that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

John 12:47 And if any man hear my words,
............ and believe not, I judge him not:
............ for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words,
............ hath one that judgeth him:
............ the word that I have spoken,
............ the same shall judge him in the last day.

Rom 4:9 Cometh this blessedness then
............ upon the circumcision only,
............ or upon the uncircumcision also?
............ for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.

Rom 4:10 How was it then reckoned?
............ when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision?
............ Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.

Rom 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision,
............ a seal of the righteousness of the faith which
............ he had yet being uncircumcised:
............ that he might be the father of all them that believe,
............ though they be not circumcised;
............ that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

Rom 4:12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only,
............ but who also walk in the steps of that faith
............ of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.

Because there was no Law of Moses, sin was not imputed or counted against those who feared God and worked righteousness

Gen 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

Paul understood and discipled Jews who WALKED by the same rule. Gentiles were accepted on the same basis:

But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. Ac.10:35

However, the meaning of FAITH in God's Mind was that Abraham obeyed the laws under which he lived. Paul intends only to disabuse the Jews of the notion that the Law of Moses made them uniquely predestinated.

Walking in the steps of Abraham meant:

Stoicheo (g4748) stoy-kheh'-o; from a der. of steicho , (to range in regular line); to march in (military) rank (keep step), i.e. (fig.) to conform to virtue and piety: - walk (orderly)

Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Gal 6:15
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Kainos (g2537) kahee-nos'; of uncert. affin.; new (espec. in freshness; while 3501 is prop. so with respect to age): - new.

Ktisis (g2937) ktis'-is; from 2936; original formation (prop. the act; by impl. the thing, lit. or fig.): - building, creation, creature, ordinance.

Gal 6:16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

1 Cor 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing but the keeping of the commandments of God.

Ph.3:16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

THE PROMISE

Rom 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world,
............ was not to Abraham, or to his seed,
............ through the law,
............ but through the righteousness of faith.

Rom 4:14 For if they which are of the law be heirs,
............ faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

Rom 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

Rom 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace;
............ to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed;
............ not to that only which is of the law,
............ but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham;
............ who is the father of us all,

Gal 3:18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

Gal 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law?
............ It was added because of transgressions,
............ till the seed should come to whom the promise was made;
............ and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

Gal 3:20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

1 Jn.2:1 MY little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Gal 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid:
............ for if there had been a law given which could have given life,
............ verily righteousness should have been by the law.

1 Ti 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man,
but for the
lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

1 Ti 1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons,
............ and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

1 Ti 1:11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

Gal 22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin,
............ that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

Rom 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,)
............ before him whom he believed,
............ even God, who quickeneth the dead,
............ and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Rom 4:18 Who against hope believed in hope,
............ that he might become the father of many nations,
............ according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Rom 4:19 And being not weak in faith,
............ he considered not his own body now dead,
............ when he was about an hundred years old,
............ neither yet the deadness of Sarahs womb:

Rom 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief;
............ but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

Rom 4:21 And being fully persuaded, that what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Rom 4:22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

Rom 4:23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;

Rom 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed,
............ if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

Paul's problems with the Jews is that they believed that Gentiles could not be saved until they were circumcised and obeyed the Law of Moses.

Paul has shown that the LAW did not disturb the PROMISE which God made to Abraham based on the basis of ABRAHAM'S faith shown by obeying God BEFORE the Law of moses.

Baptism then is in God's predestinated plan to use a baptism like that for proselytes to bring BOTH Jew and Gentile into the family of Abraham.

Gal 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Gal 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christs, then are ye Abrahams seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Rom 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences,
............ and was raised again for our justification.
