Kyle Butt The Trinity: Throughout the centuries, the nature of God has been at the center of many heated debates.

The debate was already in the World and John wrote to stamp out the ongoing Greek and other views that God was a trinity or progressive trinities defined on clay tablets. The first is that Hermes (new hermenetic), mercury or Kairos was the Word or Logos. He was perverse, god of thievea and liars. He was the mediator between paying worshipers and the various gods. Phallic Symbols meaning as in Jerusalem "we are open for trade"

Hippolytus V: For they style this good-producing, not knowing what they say. And the Greeks, deriving this mystical (expression) from the Egyptians, preserve it until this day. For we behold, says (the Naassene), statues of Mercury (Hermes or Logos), of such a figure honoured among them.  Worshipping, however, Cyllenius with especial distinction, they style him Logios. For Mercury is Logos, who being interpreter and fabricator of the things that have been made simultaneously, and that are being produced, and that will exist, stands honoured among them, fashioned into some such figure as is the pudendum of a man, having an impulsive power from the parts below towards those above. And that this (deity)-that is, a Mercury of this description-is, (the Naassene) says, a conjurer of the dead, and a guide of departed spirits, and an originator of souls; nor does this escape the notice of the poets, who express themselves thus:-

That is the ROLE for which God gave no ROLE for preachers who are HERALDS and refuse to GO but still claim to be evangelists.

The always-ANTITHESIS by God is that HE thinks, breathes and speaks. The Word of God is THE Logos defined as the Regulative Principle: It is the OPPOSITE of interpreting or fabricating by personal opinions, personal experiences, rhetoric, singing, playing instruments, acting or anything but the masculine and Godly. Both Jew and Gentile were wise unto salvation because they followed the pattern commanded and practiced and was never changed to admit fabricators or "private interpreters" or further expounding:
Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city
        them that PREACH him, being READ
        in the synagogues every sabbath day.
The Church of Christ (the Rock) is defined both inclusively and exclusively before the fall into Instrumental-Trinitarian-Perverted idolatry at Mount Sinai.  The Law of Moses was added because of this idolatrous "worship service" and was needed to keep people from being executed by the now-abandoned Levites.  However. The Book of The Covenant which was pre-law and Abrahamic as read for Spiritual Education.

Exodus 18 and the Synagogue, Ekklesia or Church of Christ.

In Galatians 3 Paul ignores the Law of Moses as the PATTERN for lading burdens and commands the only Spiritual Covenant made to Abraham.  There was no clergy and the only assemblies was for Rest, Reading and Rehearsing the Word.  Jacob in Genesis 49 had already excluded the Covenant and Synagogue of the Levites.  Levite is derived from the wreath or twisting serpent.

The Greek REST which Jesus died to give the LAITY because His covenants are with "houses" exclusive of priests or Levites.  The Word is PAUO and means S.T.O.P. the self-fabricated speaking, singing or playing instrument to that ALL (male and female) can be SAFE and come to a knowledge of THE TRUTH or THE WORD which is not a god but is recorded for our learning.

Kyle Butt The Trinity:   It is the purpose of this article to prove the thesis that the Bible teaches that the Godhead is three personalities—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—in one nature.

By personalities trinitarians really mean three PERSONS./

Recorded history and Scripture says that

God made the world, and all which it contains,
         by His Word, and Reason, and Power.

1 Corinthians 2 shows that the Spirit OF God has the same relationship as the spirit OF His creatures. God's Spirit or Mind is not another PEOPLE and that is why the always-pagan triads is called ANTICHRISTIAN.

That is clearly three gods each with their own mind, spirit or center of consciousness, ranked 1, 2, 3 but are ONE because they are are in friendly agreement.
Jesus called that Blasphemy and John defined it as AntiChrist.

H. Leo Boles at Freed Hardeman in 1939 (I was nine years old) was the first in history to define God to exclude MONOTHEISM.  This was published in 1942 (I was a baptized believer) and became the foundation upon which the Church of Christ East Wing was built. I have added inferable synonyms:

H. Leo Boles: Christ, the Word, is the agent (deputy, broker) through whom God created all things; the Holy Spirit gives life, enacts laws, and organizes (establish, institute, construct) the material universe.

Creation was not finished (full-fledged, done) until the third member of the Godhead functioned. (H. Leo Boles, The Holy Spirit, p. 37, Gospel Advocate)

The Divine Family... suggests the close relation that exists between the members of the Godhead, and also that they constitute a family  (clan, kith, lineage, race);  it suggest that they are closely related, that they are akin.  (relatives, same lineage, same tribe)  This term expresses an interest in each other and a cooperation  (teamwork, collaboration, partnership)  in activities. P. 21

Personality in God is the sum total of the infinite attributes resident in the inmost depth of his one divine nature;
he three persons in the Godhead
       are the three individualities (distinctiveness),
       the three personal centers of consciousness,
       the three separate (apart, divided, independent, disconnected, distinct)
and self-determining (self-deciding)

Not really: All pagans had images of their trinities. It is a MARK that those who refuse to obey the command to "teach what Jesus commanded to be taught and observed" wind up calling God too stupid to say what He means:

Col. 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit,
        after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the WORLD, and not after Christ.
Col. 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Col. 2:10 And YE are complete in him,
        which is the head of all principality and power:

IF God had been really smart He would have inspired Paul to say:

In Him dwelleth GOD absolutely.

But if GOD lived inside of Jesus them Jesus could not be God if I remember grammar.

Here is the Egyptian-Jewish trinity worshipped under the golden calf at Mount Sinai.

The Mormons say:
"In the beginning, the head of the Gods called a
council of the Gods; and they came together and concocted a plan to create the world and people it....In all congregations when I have preached on the subject of the Deity, it has been the plurality of Gods

Harvey Floyd because all pagans had their trinity demands a need: The word with (in Jn 1:1) implies communion, the association (alliance, organization, league, club) of persons.  As literally as this can be translated, it is 'the Word was face to face with (confronting, disputing, in the face of, countering) God, he was toward God (pros ton theon)... There are two actors (cast of characters) in the drama (play, show, performance), and they are face to face with each other.  They are on the stage at the same time... What we have is the doctrine of the Trinity: that God is a triad, that God is one God indeed, but his unity is a complex unity, a unity that exists in diversity. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Regulative Principle,

        and the

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that

John Mark Hicks who credits (?) Max Lucado and Rubel Shelly with a new "incarnational" or Second Incarnational view that teaches polytheism.

Towards a Uniform Definition
John Hicks describes the revival of social trinitarianism as “one of the most significant developments in contemporary theology.” Along with this revival has come a certain amount of confusion concerning what exactly qualifies as a social model of the trinity. In his lucid treatment of the issue, Cornelius Plantinga sets out the three conditions necessary for a theory to qualify as social and they bear repeating:
(1) The theory must have Father, Son, and Spirit as distinct centers of knowledge, will, love, and action. Since each of these capacities requires consciousness, it follows that, on this sort of theory, Father, Son, and Spirit would be viewed as distinct centers of consciousness or, in short, as persons in some full sense of that term.

His enemies charged Jesus with blasphemy by claiming to BE GOD.
Jesus accused His ENEMIES with being blasphemers because He said that He was the Son of God.
Jesus didn't become the Son of God to begin the second creation at Pentecost until He was resurrected.

Rev. 1:5 And from Jesus Christ,
        who is the faithful witness,
the first begotten of the dead,
        and the prince of the kings of the earth.
        Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Doubting Thomas missed Jesus denial that He was God by being Tardy.
Thomas blurted "my Lord and my God."
John corrects this Gnostic view by saying that Jesus was-is the Son of God meaning that He is NOT the "I AM the Lord-God of Abraham."

Paul commanded male and female self-authoring speakers to be SILENT.
Men but especially women claimed that their "madness" was proof that the gods spoke through them.
Both are to be silent so that "All might be SAFE and come to a knowledge of THE TRUTH.

God is SPIRIT or Mind Who BREATHES (spirit) and Jesus the MAN articulates His WORD.
A Spirit does not have flesh and bones.

Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see;
        for a spirit hath not FLESH and bones, as ye see me have.

Rom. 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, [Theos]

Note that Spirit is never a "person": it is the mental disposition of God or man and is in the class of Power and Holiness. OF is a preposition and no trinitarian made it past prepositions 101a.

        according to the spirit of HOLINESS,
        BY the resurrection from the dead:
Rom. 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship,
        for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

John wrote to debunk the growing Gnostic view that Jesus Christ was not a MAN.

1John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ?
        He is ANTICHRIST, that denieth the Father [Theos] and the Son. [Kurios]

Jesus is always Kurios and never Theos or even a God-Man which repudiates His sinful life and claim to be OUR brother with the same God.

1John 4:3 And every spirit that
        confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God:
        and this is that spirit of antichrist,
        whereof ye have heard that it should come;
        and even now already is it in the world.
2John 7 For many deceivers are entered into the world,
        who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.
        This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

No council or historic scholar ever defined GOD as three persons each with their own aptitutedes and seperate centers of consciousness and ranked before H. Leo Boles lectured in 1939 at Freed Hardeman and then Published in 1942 and became the CREED or PATTERN of the now Lipscomb university.

All pagans had a trinity or trinities of gods.  This was the Gnosticism which prompted John to write many decades after Jesus to debunk the notion that Jesus always defined as MAN and FLESH was really ONE of the three god persons.

As in all discussions dealing with a proper understanding of truth, an agreed upon and acceptable, sufficiently precise definition of the major terms must be set out in the beginning.

wisdom [Spirit in this instance is Sophia] of God which was IN Him, and
        His holy Word which was always present with Him

[trias or Latin trinitas . The earliest use of this word "Trinity." It seems to have been used by this writer in his lost works, also; and, as a learned friends suggests, the use he makes of it is familiar. He does not lug it in as something novel: "types of the Trinity," he says, illustrating an accepted word, not introducing a new one.]
[An eminent authority says, "It is certain, that, according to the notions of Theophilus,
        God, His Word, and His wisdom constitute a Trinity;
        and it should seem a Trinity of persons." [Or personae]

Lenski: "He rejoiced in the mind-numbing reality of the Trinity." The Graven Image three 6 as in 666.

While most words that will be discussed concerning the Trinity, such as “personality,” “nature,” and even “divinity” or “Godhead,” are fairly easy to define, that does not mean the aspects of God that they describe are easy to understand.

"This God is never called a person. The word person was never applied to God in the Middle ages. The reason for this is that the three members of the trinity were called personae (faces or countenances): The Father is persona, the Son is persona, and the Spirit is persona. Persona here means a special characteristic of the divine ground, expressing itself in an independent hypostasis.

"Thus, we can say that it was the nineteenth century which made God into a person, with the result that the greatness of the classical idea of God was destroyed by this way of speaking... but to speak of God as a person would have been heretical for the Middle Ages; it would have been to them a Unitarian heresy, because it would have conflicted with the statement that God has three personae, three expressions of his being. (Tillich, Paul, A History of Christian Thought, p. 190)

We Disciples of Christ do not depend on Merriam-Webster: My cat has personility but she is not God even if she thinks that she is!

Kyle Butt The Trinity: In fact, the Godhead is so complex and beyond human capability to fully understand, that any attempt to discuss God quickly reveals the limitations of the human mind. We can never fully understand the Godhead. 

God who breathed His Spirit into the MAN JESUS who articulated the Word or Logos was pretty stupid?

Lord God is One ALONE:

The Word or Logos is THE Regulative Principle which outlaws personal opinions, personal experiences, rhetoric, singing, acting or anything beyond the MASCULINE  limits of SPEAK or READ.  The Logos is the rational discorse of God.  Paul said that he only wrote things easy to be understood. It is pretty easy to accuse God with ignorance to say that the universal MONOTHEISM can be trashed if you are willing to hand wrestle with clear Scripture. Jesus said that doctors of the law take away the KEY to knowledge: that is their job; that is what they do for a living.

No modern "scholar" is ever taught to read BLACK text on BROWN paper: that is because the Spirit OF Christ in Isaiah 55 outlawed selling the FREE water of the Word.  Even with McGuffy's Lexicon no one can accidentiall be so wrong: Paul warned about cunning craftsmen or sophists who are LYING IN WAIT TO DECEIVE.


The Basic Argument For The Trinity

The basic argument for the Trinity proceeds as follows:

God sends strong delusions to those who do not love the WORD enough to PREACH it by READING in in the commanded and exampled once a week school.

1Tim. 2:5 For there is ONE GOD
        and one mediator between God and men,
        the MAN Christ Jesus;

The Spirit OF God is God's OWN spirit or mind or mental disposition.
Spirit is never a PERSON but the mental disposition of God or man.

God's Spirit without metron or musical meter cause the MAN Jesus to ARTICULATE the Word.

SPIRIT in Hebrew. Holy just means WHOLLY with no flesh, bones, or blood.
SPIRIT in Greek.  Spirit can never define a PERSON but only the Mental Disposition or MIND OF That person

The Spirit OF Christ BREATHED or INSpirited the Prophets

The Prophets radically repudiated the Civil-Military-Clergy complex as robbers and Parasites (PARASITE defines religious instrument noise makers such as Miriam and the Levites. And those who do NOT speak that which HAS been taught.

Christ in the prophets warned about the mercinary prophets who stole words from workshops and told lies.
God made Jesus TO BE both Lord and Christ so that He said My WORDS are SPIRIT. He made the prophecies more certain and the inspired writers left us a memory or THEIR PART.

Peter said this eye-- and ear-- witnessed record is NOT subject to private interpretation or further expounding.

Peter said that the MARK of a false teacher is one who does not speak that which is written for our LEARNING.

The Son of God is His WORD: WORD is what the speaker begets when he thinks and breaths out.
God always had His Word and Wisdom and Spirit With Him but "they" were not gods required to enable the ONE ALMIGHTY.
Tertullian an inventor of trias: But, first, I shall discuss His essential nature, and so the nature of His birth will be understood. We have already asserted that

God made the world, and all which it contains,
         by His Word, and Reason, and Power.

 It is abundantly plain that your philosophers, too,
 regard the
Logos-that is, the Word and Reason-
         as the
Creator of the universe.

And we, in like manner, hold that the Word, and Reason, and Power, which we have said God made all,

have spirit as their proper and essential    
, in which
the Word has in being to give forth utterances,
..........and reason abides to dispose and arrange,
..........and power is over all to execute.
We have been taught that

(reason) proceeds forth from God,

in that procession He is generated;
so that He is the Son of God,
and is called God from unity of substance with God. For God, too, is a Spirit.

Even when the ray is shot from the sun, is still part of the parent mass; the sun will still be in the
          ray, because it is a ray of the sun-
..........there is no division of substance,
merely an extension.

Thus Christ is Spirit OF Spirit, and God OF God, as light OF light is kindled.

The material matrix remains
entire and unimpaired,
though you derive from it
any number of shoots possessed of its qualities;

so, too, that which has come forth out of God
is at once God and the Son of God
, and the two are one. In this way also, as He is Spirit of Spirit and God of God,

He is made a second in manner of existence-in position, not in nature;
and He did not withdraw from the original source,
           but went forth.
This ray of God, then, as it was always foretold in ancient times, descending into a certain virgin, and made flesh in her womb, in His birth God and man united.
Campbell, Thomax, Trinity The relationship of Word to God was the same as the relationship of a word to a thought. And so this is the most common understanding among the church fathers. The the word is the SON of the speaker as FATHER then there is ot problem trying to sort out how a LITERAL son of god could be equal with the Father or of the same age.

1st. A word is a sign or representative of a thought or an idea
and is the idea in an
audible or visible form.
It is the exact image of that invisible thought 
which is a perfect
secret to all the world until it is expressed.

2d. All men think or form ideas by means of words or images; so that no man can think without words or symbols of some sort.

3d. Hence it follows that the word and the idea which it represents, 
co-etaneous, or of the same age or antiquity.
........It is true the word may not be uttered or born 
        for years or ages after the idea exists,
........but still the word is just as old as the idea.

4th. The idea and the word are nevertheless distinct from each other, though the relation between them is the nearest known on earth.
........An idea cannot exist without a word
        nor a word without an idea.

5th. He that is acquainted with the word, is acquainted with the idea
        for the idea is
wholly in the word.

By putting together the above remarks on the term word, 
we have a full view of what John intended to communicate.
As a word is an exact image of an idea,
so is "The Word" an exact image of the invisible God.

As a word cannot exist without an idea, nor an idea without a word,
God never was without "The Word," 
        nor "The Word" without God;

or as a word is of equal age, or co-etaneous with its idea,
        so "
The Word" and God are co-eternal.

And as an idea does not create its word nor a word its idea; so God did not create "The Word," nor the "Word" God.
