Many of the Baby Boomer peachers had draft dodgers or ANTI-carnal warfare dads maybe the first ANTI ism.  They got religion in my home in 'anti-land" and decided that if they ran off to Bible Colleges EMERGED as Babble Colleges of COHORTS anti anything the historic Church of Christ has taught.  Then as now and warned about by Erasmus they really believe that they have NEW INSIGHTS by Spiritual Formation or muttering at Ignatian retreats.  The verses quoted by K. C. Moser repudiate all of the Bible and common sense.  It is common for Faith-Only people to compare obeying the direct commands of Jesus with keeping the Law of Moses.

Jesus spoke to the clergy in parables: He said that truth had been hidden from the WORLD (ecumenical) from the foundation of the World. God hides from the Wise says Jesus: they are sophists: speakers, singers or instrument players ENHANCING the Word of God: these are the only legalists.

Being saved is being SAFE and protected in the church defined as an UMBRELLA.  Neither Grace nor Faith is said to make us FREE FROM SIN.

Moser and Hicks don't bother to read the SAFE FROM WHAT? There is a difference between being in a SAFE PLACE and having our sins remitted so that God gives us A holy spirit AFTER baptism or A good conscience because BAPTISM NOW SAVES US

K. C. Moser was writing at a time when the NACC beginning to sect out of the Disciples in 1927 were actively blaming Churches of Christ for being sectarian and legalists for not BEGINNING to do what was condemed by Christ for the synagogue of the church.

Jesus said that doctors of the Law take away the key to knowledge and called the Scribes (lying say the prophets) and Pharisees as hypocrites.  In Ezekiel 33 Christ names preachers for hire not teaching the Word, singers and instrument players. That was His mark of neither preacher not paying audience intending to obey the Word.

The ekklesia or "church" consists of all who have been "washed with water into the Word or school of Christ" and their spirits are translated into a heavenly KINGDOM where the burden laders cannot lade burdens (sermons, songs, a tax). The citizens of the invisible kingdom are FREE until the Command and Example to assemble ONCE A WEEK which is called SYNAGOGUE.  That REST from the Civil-Military-Clergy is time to READ or HEAR the Word and rehearse it so that you take it with you when you go home. That is the meaning of the only command to READ the Word and not preach the letters or sing them.

As usual while refuting Scripture and historical trinitarianism we must begin with I WAS ONCE JUST AS IGNORANT AS YOU BUT I  HAVE RECEIVED THE LIGHT.

"I once stood where Brother Colley stands on the question of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  I was brought up at the feet of teachers who denied the indwelling of the Spirit and for no better reason I denied it too.  After I began to study for myself, I soon discovered that no doctrine is more plain taught than the doctrine of the indwelling of the Spirit."

Jesus said "My WORDS are SPIRIT and they are LIFE." Jesus said that Father and Son abide IN the believer to the extent that they KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS.

John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
John 17:17  Sanctify them through thy TRUTH: thy WORD is truth.
Titus 1:3 But hath in due times manifested his WORD through preaching,
        which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

        so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

He never discovered that the SPIRIT of God is the MIND of God made visible and audible in a SINGULAR "image of God."  Spirit has only one literal meaning which is WIND.  It is used in a figurative sense as the BREATH of God.

John 11:40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that,

John 17:3 And this is life eternal,
.....that they might know thee the ONLY TRUE GOD

The Spirit or Breath is never seen as a person required for the ONE GOD THE FATHER to speak to Jesus of Nazareth WHOM GOD MADE TO BE both Lord and Christ.

God the Father breaths (spirit) and Jesus the SON articulates and speaks the WORD: the Word is the LOGOS or Regulative principle.

1Tim. 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight

1Tim. 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved,
.....and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
1Tim. 2:5 For there is ONE GOD

Just as Jesus promised that the another Comforter will be recognized WHEN I WILL COME TO YOU.  John said that the NAME of the new Comforter will be Jesus Christ the Righteous.

TO DENY THAT THERE IS ONE GOD THE FATHER AND HE MADE JESUS OF NAZARETH TO BE BOTH LORD AND CHRIST AND BREATHED (SPIRIT) SO THAT JESUS SPOKE WHAT THE FATHER THOUGHT AND BREATHED.

Historic trinitarians and the early creeds denied that the godhead (divine nature) consisted of three Divine Beings called the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  All pagan triads consisted of a father, mother (spirit, dove) and little helpless son.  The NEW textament is the ANTITHESIS so that in reading we hear Jesus say that all of the authority of the father, son and spirit are vested in ME: the name is SINGULAR.

SPIRIT in Hebrew. Holy just means WHOLLY with no flesh, bones, or blood.
SPIRIT in Greek.  Spirit can never define a PERSON but only the Mental Disposition or MIND OF That person

The Spirit OF Christ BREATHED or INSpirited the Prophets

The Prophets radically repudiated the Civil-Military-Clergy complex as robbers and Parasites (PARASITE defines religious instrument noise makers such as Miriam and the Levites. And those who do NOT speak that which HAS been taught.

Christ in the prophets warned about the mercinary prophets who stole words from workshops and told lies.
God made Jesus TO BE both Lord and Christ so that He said My WORDS are SPIRIT. He made the prophecies more certain and the inspired writers left us a memory or THEIR PART.

The Man or the Plan dogma is preacher turf wars and can have no effect on a Christian who is a Disciple who is a Student to goes to Bible classes which beginning in the wilderness was to PREACH the word by READING the Word for comfort and doctors of the Law. Preachers who do not understand prepositions will fail to understand that the Spirit OF Christ is not another little people able to fit inside of a superior humanoid.  We laity would think preaching Just Einstein without teaching any of his PLANS would border on strong delusions which Paul promised to people who tamper with the Word as taught.

The "Man or the Plan" controversy was acute in 1962. Apparently, it was the talk of the Lectureships. Indicative of its significance is Lemmons' devoting the July 3, 1962, issue of the Firm Foundation to a discussion of the subject.(4) During this intense period of publishing on the topic, only one person wrote in the Firm Foundation seriously questioning Lemmons' editorial. Waymon Miller stated,

"In our effervescent zeal to convince all of the true terms of pardon,
we have perhaps erred in selling a plan rather than a Person."(5)

WE SUGGEST THAT MAYBE HE DIDN'T KNOW THE MEANING OF EKKLESIA (free citizens) and SYNAGOGUE (school of the Word, Logos or Regulative principle. It is opposite to Rhetoric, singing, playing instruments, acting, dancing or passing the collection plate.  Jesus' plan for any one wanting to be a preacher, kerusso or herald not permitted to change the message was to GO into all the world and preach the gospel of the KINGDOM and not just a MAN.

Of course, on our bad days we call that lying. Milller etal assumes that only the "preachers" could read the Bible and the PLAN has always had to be emphasized because of people who call the Spirit's message about bapism a lie.  From the Walker-Campbell debate onward most people heard about baptism in sermons refuting the Baptists across the street. (been there--done that). Therefore, it is probably deceit for one preacher to pick on other preachers and declare what is ofthen a lie.

The Disciples of Christ was being denounced and the NACC was organized in 1927.  The Christian Churches did not cease to be counted by the Disciples until 1971.  Earlier Leroy Garrett and the erstwhile Somerites began to be "campus ministers' and later the Stone-Campbell Ministry lie was founded and the NACC has been actiive in using a few dupes to TRANSISTION other people's property into the INSTRUMENTAL SECT.  They are still at work with Lipscomb University being the "city set on seven hills" LYING IN WAIT TO DECEIVE as Paul warned about the rhetoricians, doctors of the law, singers, instrument players and all of the hypocritic arts and crafts.

The 1962 spawn of preachers were probably launched by the ANTI Carnal Warfare.  In my world too many of the young men who had been kept from starving by marching around in CCC uniforms decided they were anti warfare even though they could have entered the service without having to kill the enemy. They went off to the colleges and after the war the colleges collected all of the warm bodies and made preachers out of them.  They suddenly got free the gift of a SPIRIT person like Simon so they could become a COHORT bonding together to attack the ANTI- who never fell into financing the Madoff plans by picking the widow's purse.
