We do not intend to wade through all of the "proofs" to justify sowing musical discord: all of them have been covered as we will note as we go.  For now I want to lay some foundation which all New Testament clergy missed.

See on the Synagogue which began as the Church of Christ in the wilderness.

I.  As evil type the Jews engaged in musical idolatry at Mount Sinai

        A. As a remedy the tribe of Levi whom Jacob had warned about were abandoned to worship the starry host.
        B. Christ ordained the Qahal, ekklesia, synagogue or church in the wilderness.

II. As evil anti-type the Jews would treat the Son of God in the same way: this is prophesied in great detail to prove that they would attack him in the style of the perverted musical mockers.

          A. The Prophecy of the perverse, musical attack against the Son.

B. As a remedy Jesus promised to build HIS ekklesia or synagogue. That continues the Synagogue which never had a "praise service" but was devoted to the Word of God--only.  It would be empowered by His Spirit in His Word. Jesus patterned, Paul taught and commanded and the historic church was faithful for almost 400 years when singing as an ACT was added.

The stumbling stone is that almost no sees church as a school of the Bible but as a "worship service" which is patterned on the fatal pattern of the tribe of Levi.  That is why lost souls lust to live under the Law.

We should make the short note that there is no dispute about music in recorded history. Furthermore, those who ADDED instruments did so with no need for authority.  Unity then and now was not the object: the object under the unity diversion is an opening wedge to use isolated verses to contradict the purpose of the Spirit to force people to affirm disputable practice. The object is NOT unity any more than the wolf wants unity with the lamb: the object is that we can have unity if YOU abandon your eternal understanding and agree to SIN with us. Probably no more effort has been spent on any dogma than the attempt to convince people to do what Danny has confessed to be disputable instrumental worship.  That contracts the Spirit through Paul who said that disputable matters are not tolerated in the assembly: only that which edifies which means educate with that which is written.

It is pretty easy to fall for the folly that the Church of Christ INVENTED not using music as part of the "school of the Bible." In fact, and contrary to most of the attack, none of the protestant groups in America used instruments when the effort to RESTORE the Bible as the sole source of information about the Christian discipline.  Not even Catholics engaged in congregational singing with instrumental accompaniment.  And yet, the instrumentalists seem to think that there was even one single event in the Old or New Testament where people collectively "worshipped" doing what they call praise music.

In fact, before the Disciples added the organ (only instrument authorized) most other denominations had or were going through the same massive "worship wars" knowing they would sow discord but needing the organ to save their edifice. J. W. McGarvey was told that his church could not survive without the added attractant and money.  As far as I can determine, the Disciples were the first to try to find authority after they has joined with the other denominations.  Even now, the massive numbers of the world's worshipers do not use instruments AS worship.

Because the word PSALLO is the first attempt by the Disciples to justify their sectarianism which excluded multitutes is so critical to their position, we have taken a look at the use of the word in the Septuagint..  Psallo means to play and does not include an instrument.  If say David is playing a harp then it must be named: the addition of the harp does not change the definition of psallo to INCLUDE the harp. Otherwise the word is used in the LXX to means SING.

PSALLO IN THE LXX to get past that argument.

SO DISCOUNT THE FALSE FOUNDATION THAT THE CHURCH OF CHRIST INVENTED NOT USING INSTRUMENTS.

Some History of Instrumental music in worship: this list is not up to date. We have posted most of the Presbyterian writers who were against instruments before the Church of Christ scholars.  A fairly complete collection of music documents beginning with clay tablets some 3,000 years old when Moses wrote to warn the Israelites who had fallen from grace because of musical worship. Click and you will find not a jot or tittle of evidence that God wants instrumental noise when HE holds church in the wilderness or Academy.

WHY HAS THERE BEEN A GIGANTIC OUTBURST OF DISCORD AND AFFLICTION BY IMPOSING INSTRUMENTS?

Perhaps to validate their musical sectarianism the last three decades has witnessed discord of historic proportion.

The compulsive behaviour intends to force those who prefer what is falsely called ACappella to at least affirm or confess that the sectarians were Biblically authorized or even commanded to add what is defined as "machines for doing hard work or for producing the shock and awe of religious ceremonials."   These are blessed with the title Non-instrumentalists.

However, those who never used instruments and who believe that it is anti-Biblical to use noise-making machines to create the laded burden Jesus died to shut down, and who continue to resist those who spread discord, are defined as ANTI-instrumentalists and are fair game for games fair or foul. Dwayne Dunning declared that they were going to take the AXE to this "sect" or "cult." And the blood has flown for more than three decades.

They hide the truth that the "serpent" was a musical enchanter(ess) in the garden, and that the "musical team" used by Nimrod intended to shut down the logical (word) or spiritual brain.  That allowed them to pour their venom into your emotional (feminine) brain so that YOU believe that their stealing your cattle was your plan from the beginning.  They hide the fact Cain is derived from a musical note and this MARKED him. He produced the EVIL LAMECH race with the Jubal, Jabal, Tubal-Cain and Naamah family, the first murder, the first polygamy and the first use of musical instruments.  Jubal, the Cainite, was the father of all of the musical instrument handlers which means "without authority." That is because they used "the works of human hands" to steal all of the cattle and then sell them back to you. Even worse, they abuse the God-created "fight or flight" impulse and tell you that they are brinnging you into contact with the "spirits."  Yes, Paul looked back at the musical idolatry or play at Mount Sinai and called it demon worship.  We get a clear picture under the prophet's exposure of the Amos and Isaiah musical fall from grace.

Speaking of the Instrumental music in worship condemned by Amos and others we note that:

"The marzeah had an extremely long history extending at least from the 14th century B.C. through the Roman period. In the 14th century B.C., it was prominently associated with the ancient Canaanite city of Ugarit (modern Ras Shamra), on the coast of Syria... The marzeah was a pagan ritual that took the form of a social and religious association... Some scholars regard the funerary marzeah as a feast for--and with--deceased ancestors (or Rephaim, a proper name in the Bible for the inhabitants of Sheol)." (King, Biblical Archaeological Review, Aug, 1988, p. 35, 35)

"These five elements are: (1) reclining or relaxing, (2) eating a meat meal, (3) singing with harp or other musical accompaniment, (4) drinking wine and (5) anointing oneself with oil." (King, p. 37).

"Worship was form more than substance; consequently, conduct in the marketplace was totally unaffected by worship in the holy place. Amos spoke from the conviction that social justice is an integral part of the Mosaic covenant, which regulates relations not only between God and people, but also among people." (King, p. 44).

"In pagan traditions, musical instruments are invented by gods or demi-gods, such as titans. In the Bible, credit is assigned to antediluvian patriarchs, for example, the descendants of Cain in Genesis 4:21. There is no other biblical tradition about the invention of musical instruments." (Freedman, David Noel, Bible Review, Summer 1985, p. 51).

Perhaps Danny has been nurtured into a fatal fall from grace which was caused by the musical enchanter(ess) in the garden of Eden, at Mount Sinai and in the end times Babylon mother of harlots (Rev 17) who uses lusted after fruits (Amos used the term also) as slick speakers, singers and musicians John called sorcerers who HAD deceived the whole world in Revelation 18.  The fact is that all musical terms are couched at the door to enchant, charm or to drive you into an out of your mind condition which all of the musical pagans intended while picking your pockets.

Aristotle: Melody Deceives: "Poets also make use of this in inventing words, as a melody "without strings" or "without the lyre"; for they employ epithets from negations, a course which is approved in proportional metaphors..

The form of diction should be neither metrical nor without rhythm.

If it is metrical, it lacks persuasiveness, for it appears artificial, and at the same time it distracts the hearer's attention, since it sets him on the watch for the recurrence of such and such a cadence..

According to Philo, the gods of the pagans exploit this weakness of men. For the sake of a better effect, and with the intention of more easily cheating their devotes, that they have set their lies to melodies, rhythms and meters.." Click for more.

In a literal sense: 

John 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: 
        for God giveth not the Spirit by meter unto him.

And the words connected to SPEAK and the WORD are clearly defined as the OPPOSITE of either poetry or music.

Some of the previous books living primarily off the list of "psallo" proof texts by Tom Burgess which in turn come from O.E.Payne. Too bad that the historical literature has to be used to inject MUSIC in the not-musical passages speaking of using that which is written and using one mind and one mouth to edify or educate, comfort with Scripture and prevent the discord when "doubtful disputations" outlawed in Romans 15 are used.

Missing More than Music: Buy the book

1. I will go back over some history that most most preachers and even leading scholars have never read.
2. If you can grasp (probably not) the evil role of music in the Bible involving lucifer the singing and harp playing prostitute, Musical Exorcists in the curse of the sacrificial system, the use of "praise" in warfare to panic the enemy with a threat of being sodomized if they do not turn coward, prostitutes and Sodomites, WHY would you bruise all of your tender parts to IMPOSE something which has always signalled spiritual warfare and an outbreak of feminist impulses?
3. If you could READ black text on brown paper you would define words and understand the universal MUSICAL MARK of people shedding blood or males shedding your clothes.  Psalm 149 has David seemingly lusting to get in bed with God as we have musical discorders LUSTING to "dance in the lap of God."

Milton Jones, too, saw the way to unity by discording a historic pioneer Church of Christ in Seattle Washington.  More than 30 years prior to this forward, as an elder I helped move Milton Jones and an exodus group to Seattle. Milton's paper was the Vanguard concept but the hostile takeover was too young for us to grasp that it was our territory that they were moving into in order to confiscate in the model of many ancient conquoring vandals and well illustrated by the way the Aztecs invaded and displaced owners.

Milton Jones defended this hostile takeover for the Christian Church or the NACC based on the documents supplied by the Christian Church which twists and lies about all of the Biblical and historical references to the use of "machines for doing hard work" to enchant or perform sorcery in the words of John in Revelation 18.  In Revelation 17 this is the MARK of the Babylon mother of harlots who uses "lusted after fruits" as slick, deceptive speakers, singers and instrument players.  John said that they HAD deceived the whole world.  In the old symbol of the serpent biting its own tail this closes the cycle begun in the garden of Eden with the serpent.  No, not a snake but a snakish race of viper worshipers meaning a musical enchanter or mostly enchantress. That is because the literature is void of any "straight" men singing and playing instruments in a religious sense.  Personified as the king / queen of Tyre, he / she is called the "singing and harp playing prostitute."  As the literal king of Tyre he/she loved to sell her supply of cedar and then use the musical girls to deceive the merchant, murder him and get the cedar back. The actual record of Wen Amun explains how the NACC has worked with dupes to achieve "unity" by a hostile takeover of happy non-instrumental (non-Legalistic) Churches of Christ.  

Tyre as the happy harlot really designed the Temple in Jerusalem which was permitted after God turned Israel over to worship the starry host because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. This is where Israel repeated the debauched musical idolatry of Egypt and why God put the Levites as an old Egyptian cult in charge of the curse of the sacrificial syste.  See the Mount Sinai missed by most pseudo scholars.

Jehovah, through Christ the Spirit, made it certain that HE was the only elohim which was true.  Jesus is Jehovah-saves.  At the same time the "gods" of the Jews at the cursed sacrificial system are named after the elohim.

Of the Ghebers at Hebron: "Genesis points to the Egyptian priests just as it was known to be in later times. The allies of Saturn were called Eloeim, the Jewish priests wer Loim or Luim (Levites), and Dionysus Luios or Luaios."  

The Israelites continued to worship Saturn (666 in Chaldee) as defined in Amos.

ALL of the monarchy, king, temple, sacrificial system and the exorcism noise--never called music--was the EVIL THREAD of all nations consisting of the Civil-Military-Clergy complex. The Spirit of Christ who taught the Spiritual thread through the writing prophets--ONLY---called them robbers and parasites.  Jacob had warned us NOT to come into the assemblies of the tribe of Levi. And what does Milton Jones and Danny Corbitt do: they use the CURSED MONARCHY to say that God commanded us to "walk like the Levites" none of whom could enter or COME NEAR any holy thing without being executed.

As the Abomination of Desolation, it was this same god of Tyre called the singing and harp playing prostitute who is worshipped at the Temple.  Zeus was the FATHER of these temples including in Jerusalem. Dionysus was the SON. That is why Jesus was very careful to say that He embodied Father, Son and Spirit and on literate reader could miss the repudiation of a trinity of gods.

See in 2 Maccabees: The tensions which led to the Jewish revolt were exacerbated when the Jewish high priest, a Hellenist himself, offered a sacrifice to Heracles (Hercules) who was a Greek symbol of homosexuality. Riley adds,'The Jewish temple itself became the scene of pagan sacrificial meals and sexual orgies [including homosexuality].' The final insult (for which Antiochus is identified in the Bible as the archtype of the antichrist)'was the installation in the temple of a pagan symbol, possibly a representation of Zeus [Baal], called by a sardonic pun 'the abomination of desolation''

The Jews of Palestine and the diaspora were surrounded by a Hellenic culture which some found disturbing,

but others were excited by Greek theater, philosophy, sport and poetry. They learned Greek, exercised at the gymnasium and took Greek names. Some fought as mercinaries in the Greek armies.

"Thus some Greeks came to know the God of Israel and decided to worship Yahweh (Iao) alongside Zeus and Dionysus.

Some were attracted to the synagogue... There they read scriptures, prayed and listened to sermons (explanations).
The synagogue was unlike anything else in the rest of the ancient religous world.
Since there was no ritual or sacrifice, it must have seemed more like a school of philosophy, and many flocked in the synagogue if a well-known Jewish preacher came to town...

"By the second century BC this hostility was entrenched: in Palestine there had even been a revolt when Antiochus Epiphanes, the Selucid governor, had attempted to Hellenize Jerusalem and introduce the cult of Zeus into the temple....This paganizing involved MUSIC and the GYMNASIUM: both directed to the body and senses. 

When Jesus came the contemporaneous evidence proves that the expected Messiah was Dionysus: his legends are refuted point by point by Jesus in His spoke and acted parables (to fool the foolish clergy). Jesus identified the MEN of that generace as CHILDREN (the perverted music word).  This marked them as the operartives of Dionysus (the new wineskin god now):

They wanted Jesus and others to weep which is well documented as the ouchy of being "initiated" into the homosexual Dionysus gay brotherhood.

The musical "worship" of the pagans and the temples were in the Agoras or marketplace. The PSALLO word's second major use is of the polluted red rope used to DRIVE those who dallied around the flute girls and boys in the Agora up to the Ekklesia in Athens.  The ekklesia, like the synagogue, was a word-only assembly and and singer or instrument player would be hurt.  Those who arrived with the PSALLO MARK were fined and not permitted to participate in the ekklesia.

Milton Jones says: "In the long ruin, Danny's love for the Lord as demonstrated here will release many people from the constraints of their past and free them to worship God in spirit and in truth. For this freedom, I am indeed grateful."

But, according to Charles Spurgeon, even beyond the pale ethics would prevent one so "liberated" from twisting all of the known evidence to confiscate another group's property and sow discord all around the country in the interest of commerce.

The sinful woman had no trouble understanding Jesus: Worship was at the PLACES of Jerusalem and in Gerezim. Worship IN SPIRIT is the PLACE which "now is" for all of those who attended synagogue.  In Truth does not permit lies.  The church in the wilderness is INCLUSIVE of Rest, reading and rehearsing the Word of God.  It was exclusive of "vocal and instrumental rejoicing."

BUILDING THE FOUNDATION: The people were Quarantined from Sacrificial System added as part of the worship of the starry host to which God had abandoned the nation. As a Covenant of Grace God gave The Book of the Covenant to govern the nation. Israel fell fatally from Grace because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. God turned them over to worship the starry host (Acts 7 and a dozen more passages) God burdened them with The Book of The Law and the Levites to "bear the burdens of sin." The Abrahamic Covenant was lost and the First Born sons replaced. No one not of Levi and not specificially ordained could COME NEAR the Tabernacle without sinning. Because the false teachers REST on the curse of the Law and the Monarchy, the elders, preachers and artistic performers would die if they ventured in or near the area of animal slaughter. Furthermore, no Levite, used as Warrior Noise makers and later under the king and commanders of the army--could come near the holy places of the sanctury or they would be executed. The patternism is that if a musician enters into the body of Christ as fulfilment of the Holy Place he / she / it is worthy of death. Num 18:2 And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister BEFORE the tabernacle of witness. [never IN] H8334 sharath shaw-rath' A primitive root; to attend as a menial or worshipper; figuratively to contribute to:--minister (unto), (do) serve (-ant, -ice, -itor), wait on.  Num 18:3 And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle:         only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar,         that neither they, nor ye also, die. Nadab and Abihu violates several commandments. All of the non-Levites were called STRANGERS: therefore, if you were not of the tribe of Levi with the assignment to serve you could not even minister to the priests outside of the Temple-proper.  Therefore, no member of the "church" could come near the Tabernacle and none of the "ministers" could ENTER it. "A stranger," that is, one, neither a priest nor a Levite, who should intrude into any departments of the sacred office, should incur the penalty of death. ROBERT JAMIESON Num 18:4 And they shall be joined unto thee,         and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation,         for all the service [hard, legalistic bondage] of the tabernacle:         and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you. The sacrificial system was NEVER the spiritual worship but part of the WRATH DISPELLING curse imposed because of Musical idolatry. Num 18:5 And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar:         that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel. Contrary to being a spiritual worship service, the sacrificial system had been imposed and if it were not performed it would bring down God's wrath as punishment due for NOT performing what they had been abandoned to. Num 18:6 And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel:          to you they are given as a gift for the LORD,          to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.  Num 18:7 Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest’s office for every thing of the altar,         and within the veil; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest’s office unto you as a service of gift:         and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death. "And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Numbers 18:21 That also removes any modern cleric from imposing the tithe. H5656 ‛abodah ‛abodoh ab-o-daw', ab-o-daw' From H5647 ; work of any kind:--act, bondage, + bondservant, effect, labour, ministering (-try),  H5647 ‛abad aw-bad' keep in bondage, be bondmen, bond-service, compel, do, dress, ear, execute "Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation,         lest they bear sin, and die. Numbers 18:22 THE MEANING OF PARASITES MARKED BY THE PROPHETS BY THE SPIRITOF CHRIST Because God had abandoned Israel to "worship the starry hosts" we understand that the Levites became a burden and not a blessing to the nation. Parasītus (parasitos, “table companion”). A word which among the Greeks denoted originally the priest's assistant, who, like the priest, received his support from the offerings made to the temple, in return for certain services. These services included the collection and care of supplies of corn due to the temple, assistance at certain sacrifices, and the preparation of the banquets connected with [p. 1175] certain festivals. The assistants of civil officials, who were maintained at the expense of the State, were also called parasites in many places. The word received another meaning in the Middle and New Greek comedy, where it means the hanger on, who plays the flatterer and buffoon, with a view to getting invited to dinner. The parasite was transferred as a standing character to the Roman imitations of Greek comedy, and figures largely in the plays of Plautus. The Greek word, pharmakos, that we might best translate as "scapegoat" (because it designated one who was expelled from the community), is obviously related to the Greek word for "drug," pharmakon.  The idea is the same behind both. A drug is a poison that, given the right circumstance and precisely the right dosage, can also be a remedy. The sacrificial system was NEVER the spiritual worship but part of the WRATH DISPELLING curse imposed because of Musical idolatry. In 2 Chronicles 28 Hezekiah took the sacrifical team OUTSIDE of the walls where it was quarantined. This brought on a plague. In 2 Chronicles 29 Hezekiah saw that the plague had caused everyone to leave the garbage left over by the Assyrian worship "with instruments."   Purely as a political effort--Hezekiah was king--He proposed a plague stopping animal slaughter.  During the process where the GOATS enjoyed the instruments of David while they burned as an offering for Israel which had already fallen into idolatry.  They cleaned out all of the instruments or vessels left over by the Assyrians but no Levite could go NEAR any holy place and the priests had to remove the garbage from ALL of the holy places. This had the effect of calling most of the residual tribe of Judah INSIDE the city gates to be ready for an attack. In 2 Chronicles 31 Manasseh took over and restored all of the musical madness connected with burning infants to Molech. It was those called "the lying pen of the Scribes" who left this record but the Spirit of Christ under all of the prophets repudiated the entire "old style worship" which was musical and therefore idolatrous. This was the sentence conditionally imposed because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.  Canaan as the promised land became the Killing Fields as God let the kings lead them into captivity and death. Furthermore, all of the performing arts are identified as the Hypocritic arts and because they produced nothing good and caused lots of destruction of morals they were called PARASITES. Why are people so anxious to impose the CURSE  of hypocrites and parasites. NEHEMIAH IDENTIFYING THE PARASITES The False preachers also missed that the Spirit OF Christ spoke ONLY through the prophets: it is a lie that the "holy spirit" guided the elders and preachers to lie about all of the Bible. The prophets thought that the kings, our princes, our priests, and  our fathers were lawless parasites.  So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would. THE USE OF PSALLO IN THE GREEK TRANSLATION

Never let anyone hid the fact that because of Musical idolatry at Mount Sinai, God abandoned the Levi tribe to worship the starry host.  The kings used the Levites as warrior or panic musicians.  In the case of David's cunning playing on the harp, we know that this was a political move recorded by the king's scribes and NOT by the prophets inspired by the Spirit of Christ.  When God totally abandoned Saul the result the result was prophesying.  David was brought in to soothe or charm Saul but used his musical skills to drive him in and out of madness.  David later would destroy all of Saul's viable DNA including giving one up for human sacrifice.

Always, what is to be plucked MUST BE named.  Psallo does not mean 'Play on a harp." Psallo means touch or pluck.  Harp defines WHAT isa to be plucked.

THE THREAT OF HALAL (PRAISE), THE EFFEMINATE AND LUCIFER

Under the King and Commanders of the army the PRAISE word means to MAKE YOURSELF VILE as a sexual threat. It still is and that may explay why most preachers are reluctant to stand up and face these ZOE or LUCIFER people.

I will look at the total misunderstanding by Danny Corbitt when he askes What Happened to Praise when Jesus Came?

No Bible student would ever say that God changed His mind for the New Covenant.  There are no LAWS ADDED to the Church of Christ. The direct command as the synagogue or school of the Bible is to SPEAK the Biblical text with the singing and melody in the PLACE of the human heart.

The command was not to primarily SING but to SPEAK for the purpose of teaching and admonishing one another.  Singing as a ACT was imposed from the same Babylonia area in the year 373 and split the east and west churches.  Even so, singing does not deliberately sow discord.  So, congregational singing was not IMPOSED on anyone since the Reformation.  Before that the Catholics never sang congregationally with organ accompaniment.  None of the Restoration groups used instruments because they would be DIVISIVE or were CONDEMNED.  It was only after the Civil war and the northern groups went home with full carpetbags that the building and organ war began IN THE NORTH.  

THE DISCIPLES AUTHORITY

When the Church of Christ which had never in history used instruments refused to be NUMBERED with the Disciples sowing musical discord, the Christian Church was called DISCIPLES.  If there is such a lust to unity then the Christian Church is BOUND to UNITE with the Disciples of Christ.  Otherwise, it is truly Satanic to accuse the Church of Christ of being a sectarian division of the Christian Church and caused DISUNITY by not BEGINNING to do what they had never done under the 2000 year history called The Church of Christ.

The fourth is tradition. The Church has learned some things in the past two thousand years (that's right, the Church learned some things even before Alexander Campbell!). By looking to the Church's tradition (its history, its declarations, its collective wisdom) one can learn much about the nature of God and the nature of humankind. As the sage has said, one who does not learn history is doomed to repeat it. Studying the church's tradition is a way for us to learn some things the easy way!

The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the Living God,

uses these four sources of revelation to teach us who God is and who we are.

The Christian Church did not begin to SECTARIAN out until 1927 and they were NOT DIScounted in the census in 1971. So to claim that the Church of Christ SECTED OUT of the Christian church and uset the "unity" over instruments is--on my good days--a bald faced lie used by all of the wolves stealing sheep to "eat" them and craunch their bones.

DID THE CHURCH OF CHRIST FORCE GOD TO CHANGE HIS MIND

One of the biggest lies which has entrapped Danny with a lot of help from a friend? is that God COMMANDED instrumental praise as the PATTERNISM for the worship of the Jews.  Since He did not change His mind then instrumental praise is still in effect.  No one says that you have had to read the Old Testament to be a preacher.  If you do not have the foundation of the Christian Faith which demands a strong moral base promoting musical "worship" may just be based on family pressure usually of a female kind lusting to PERFORM.

1. No "congregational" assembly ever met for WORSHIP and held a praise service with singing and instrumental music. Never ever.  During a plagues stopping animal slaughter which might be spaced almost 300 years from the last one, the "congregation" consisted of the King, priests to slaughter and Levites ONLY during the burning of the GOATS time.  The SPIRITUAL THREAD was warned to be OUTSIDE of the GATES by the loud noise.  The only worship word meant to fall on your face.
2. The ABANDONED sacrificial system made NOISE and PRAISE meant to make yourself vile or insane which was in all ancient cultures a threat to the gods that you might take your business elsewhere.
3. Those not of the tribe of Levi whose Assemblies Jacob told you NOT TO ATTEND, met in small groups in the Church beginning in the wilderness. Both vocal and instrumental rejoicing was OUTLAWED.
4. So there is NO worship services in the Old Testament using music: slaughtering innocent animals used exorcism noise to "make the lambs dumb before the slaughter."
5. The synagogue never changed and there were said to be thousands of synagogues in and around Jerusalem where ten mature males could call the synagogue to PREACH the word by READING the Word--only. Even preaching was outlawed.
6. Therefore, you are REQUIRED to have Jesus COMMAND you to do what He commanded you NOT to do in the Church of Christ in the wilderness under the Spirit of Christ.

BACK TO EGYPT, MOUNT SINAI AND THE LOSS OF GRACE AND ABANDONMENT TO THE SACRIFICIAL SYSTEM.

God rescued Israel from Egypt by pure grace because His righteousness would have left them there to self destruct because they were more evil than the other nations.

They fell into musical idolatry at Mount Sinai and God abandoned them and turned them over to a LEGALISTIC mediator. They were made dumb and blind and could not read the Old Testament until Jesus came and they turned, converted or were baptized into Christ.

ARE THOSE WHO DON'T USE INSTRUMENTS PREVENTING UNITY WITH OTHERS

Well, probably, yes. But, the meaning of the ELECT is that Jesus calls you OUT from the massed multitudes to be a faithful but tiny remnant people devoted to the only meaning of worship which is to give attention to Jesus and HIS Word when we gather or synagogue together.  Even simple people grasp that you don't make musical noise when Jesus gives us rest FROM this anxiety creating activity so we can "come learn of Him." But it is not honest to blame those who have NEVER fell into what is known as idolatry as the lust of the eyes and lust of the years for thse past 2,000 years.  If someone IMPOSES "machines for doing hard work" then they are being EXCLUSIVE and preventing unity.

Danny Corbitt uses the usual Romans 14 demanding that we "accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters." Romans 14.

That's Good but the text reads.

Rom. 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

That means that private opinions are not allowed or private practices. The job of the assembly is contrary to the pagan worship centers where music was and is destructive to the emotional health of may people. You nurture people in order to teach them the Word of God and you cannot go beyond that which is written without deliberately violating this common decency for a fraction of the people.

What is commanded to be excluded:
Dialogismos often means the perverse, vain thinking which contemplates destruction. It was used to describe the reasoning of those who thought themselves wise (Ro 1:21, 1Cor 3:20)

NIDNTT notes that.. The thoughts of the human heart do not necessarily lead, as the Greeks thought, to a knowledge of the truth (cf. 1 Cor. 1:21-25), but are evil (Mk. 7:21; Matt. 15:19), full of doubt and suspicion (Mk. 2:6, 8; Lk. 5:22; 6:8), moved by the passing moment (Lk. 3:15), full of greed (Lk. 12:17; 20:14), always concerned with the superficial (Mk. 8:16f.; Matt. 16:7f.) and full of sly calculation (Matt. 11:25; Mk. 11:31).

The Exegetical Dictionary notes that...

Even when dialogismos has a specialized use, the essential connection with the general NT meaning of doubting or calculating consideration is retained. (Balz, H. R., & Schneider, G. . Exegetical Dictionary of the New Testament. Grand Rapids, Mich.: Eerdmans)

But Jesus, aware of their reasonings (dialogismos), answered and said to them, "Why are you reasoning (dialogizomai = verb form) in your hearts? (Luke 5:22) (Comment: In the majority of occurrences of the verb dialogizomai is used for the deliberations of Jesus’ opponents, Mk 2:6, 8,  or the interpersonal deliberations of the disciples, Mk 8:16ff)

But He (Jesus) knew what they (his opponents) were thinking (dialogismos), and He said to the man with the withered hand, "Rise and come forward!" And he rose and came forward. (Luke 6:8)

Rom. 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

While people could be judgmental based on where the people bought their food in the markets, Paul said that that which connected to the flesh was not part of the kingdom of peace.  At the same time all of the sects in Rome were highly addicted to the use of instruments to drive themselves into a frenzy. Then as now people associated the effects on the pleasure centers as proof that the gods were living inside of you.

Of the tambourine or tabret, Smith's Bible Dictionary notes that&emdash;

"It was used in very early times by the Syrians of Padan-aram at their merry-making (Gen. 31:27). It was played principally by women (Ex. 15:20); Judg. 11:34; 1 Sam. 18:6; Psa lxvii:25 as an accompaniment to the song and dance, and appears to have been worn by them as an ornament (Jer. 31:4)... It is beat with the fingers, and is the Trye tympanum of the ancients, as appears from its figure in several relieves, representing the orgies of Bacchus and rites of Cybele." An idea common in Shamanism for instance. Originally, the followers of Dionysus were women only. The Bacchae or Maenads, were, and are, the female devotees of Dionysus. The word bakkhos (masculine) or bakkh (feminine) means someone who has been possessed by the god, who literally has the god within. (The word entheos, meaning "having the god [= theos] within," is the root of our word enthusiasm.) The feminine plural of this word, bakkhai, is Latinized as "bacchae," hence the Bacchae. The MEAT mark would be in the Agora or marketplace: where Jesus consigned the pipers, singers and dancers. Paul outlaws doubtful disputations which is ANYTHING which arises out of human opinion.  It has no place in the synagogue defined in Romans 15..

The Self-pleasure in Romans 15 points directly to all of the performing or hypocritic practices which "create mental excitement." This word in the Greek and Latin points to any group agreement imposed on others or any of the theatrical practices.

Jesus and Paul said that worship is in the PLACE of the human spirit because outside the Dogs or Cynic singers who were male homosexuals will seek to devoure you.

No one ever gives music any more credit than pure entertaiment.  And you cannot entertain yourself without gender confusion and prevening worship or meditation IN the spirit.

DOES THE "MUSICAL" PASSAGES EXCLUDE THE USE OF INSTRUMENTS

Since we have shown that they were excluded for the Church in the Wilderness and no one violated that as far as I can determine, the question would be "Do these passages INCLUDE the use of instruments." The answere is NO.  Understanding the meaning of words means that instruments are OUTLAWED and there is no "tuneful" concept in any of Paul's writings.
